Heard he was scratched tonight because he has been trade, or sent home awaiting a trade. Thought something was up since Watson did not speak at BLC, he "was busy".

Last night I overheard somebody talking about how Jason McDonough went home. Any other news on him?

the rumors I was hearing was that he was upset over playing time and went home...unfortunately, it's the "Marc Andre" syndrome and without Ryan in town, I don't know if the Spirit really have a need for Jason. He brings a little toughness to the team and even though i like the rough stuff, i'll take a draft pick for him.

I heard that he warmed in the Sudbury game, came in and was told he would be on the fourth line. He blew up and this led to a confrontation between GM and Head Coach. The GM accused the coach of purposely not playing his acquisitions in an attempt to discredit his trades (McDonough, Taylor, Ogilvie etc.) which led to a meeting of the minds after the game Sunday....supposedly it was very heated.
McDonough stormed out of the arena and went home awaiting a trade or waivers - which ever comes first. In addition, several others have been up on the trade wire with no results...a few GM's have put in a few comments with Garber/Goslin and we find ourselves in this mess today.

I did not see DE at the Sudbury game. This sounds like an unworkable situation. It has to be corrected.

Watson runs the show on the ice. He sees more of the team than Edwards. He would know who best fits where right now. And if Edwards thinks Watson did this to make him look bad, YIKES!!!

i trust that info topphatt...but like I said earlier, without Ryan on the team, Jason doesn't have a lot of pull with coach/gm/owner anymore. Having a 100pt scorer as a bro can get you some "favors" with teams...without that, as they say in the NBA, he's just a guy.

With all due respect to Jason, if he's gonna throw a tantrum about playing time than maybe he is better off elsewhere. You have to EARN the play time. It's not just handed to you on a silver platter. And even with his brother here last year to "pull favors" he still played very few games. I agree with coach that if other players are better, play them first.

Although there hasn't been a high number of goals produced yet, I've seen much improvement from some that didin't play as much last season. I actually thought Jason was playing okay and I also noticed Allicock getting some powerplay and penalty kill time and is looking quite good too. Once some of these players build their confidence and gain some more experience I think they will become good producers. I agree that ice time needs to be earned.
