Edwards blocked this deal much to Garber, Goslin, and especially Watson's outrage.
Real good skill player up front. He'll work right into a potential 1st line with Murovich and Szwarz. I'm happier than I even was yesterday when I found out Don-Key was being put out to the shed.

I think this is a good trade...i will miss breen's ability to wail on someone but he's probably #5 on the list of Dmen and we pick up a pretty talented kid that should be productive on probably a 3rd line
EDIT: I guess newguy and i differ on this one...i've heard good things about skellet in the past but i'm a "wait and see" before i throw him on the first line.
If Combs is indeed back...i see the lines roughly like this:
Chappell - Combs - Szwarz Allicock - Murovich - Pleckatis Skellet - Sanderson - Svoboda Tront - Bochek - Fillman
If that's the case, suddenly we've got a pretty good offense IMO

Well, we all knew from the start of the season (actually, back in the off season) that we were stacked, so-to-speak, on defense, and that we had to trade a d-man for a forward. I like this trade, even tho I really liked Breen & thought he picked his game up. Skellett looks like a great pick up!

If Combs is indeed back...i see the lines roughly like this: Chappell - Combs - Szwarz Allicock - Murovich - Pleckatis Skellet - Sanderson - Svoboda Tront - Bochek - Fillman I know you said "roughly", but what about Jarusek? I see him in the line-up more than Tront or Fillman. I also would like Skellett on the 2nd line & Allicock down to the 3rd, or even 4th. Allicock & Bochek together last weekend was a good pair!

The reason I put Allicock on the 2nd line was that Muro/Pleck are going to get chippy with the way they play and because of their size, people are going to take shots at them and Allicock will provide some protection for them to use their skating ability.
also, I agree, i'd probably sub out Regis Fillman for Jarusek.

I think this is a good move. Breen is a good player. But with a team loaded with good d-men and weak on the scoring side, something needed to be done. Watching Skellet play for Erie, I always thought he was good and I think he will be a big asset to the team. If Combs is indeed coming back, Saginaw has just been transformed into a solid playoff caliber team. I don't think they will win the Cup, but they are a lot better than they were before the moves. Only the Shadow knows why Edwards won't pull the trigger on this move.

I like Breen and he's been nothing but class for this team. But we all knew that at least one D-man would have to go, in order to get some scoring. Skellett should help with that. My only concern is that I don't think he has played this season, and has been sitting out waiting for a trade. The Erie people are kind of down on him (and Nick Palmieri) and I don't know if it's justified or not. But as far as I'm concerned, he comes in with a clean slate. This move makes very good sense both ways.

I think it's a good trade and hope Christopher is happy in Erie. I'm sure he'll get lots of ice. Now that Combs is back my guess would be Chappell - Combs - Szwarz Skellet - Murovich - Pleckatis Allicock- Sanderson - Tront Svoboda- Bochek - Jaresek Fillman sits or subs in to the 4th line. Bochek moves and exchanges with Tront in some lineups.

'm not sure I'd break up the Sanderson-Muro-Plekaitis line so quickly. They have shown some nice chemistry. But with Jack returning to the Number 1 line, it does mean some shuffling has to be done. Is Skellet strictly a winger, or has he played any center?
I love it. We're discussing line combinations. This is great!!!

don--I just watched that clip of Skellet punching Della Rovere. I had to laugh. It reminded me of the Hansen's brothers' warmup skate as one of them circled near center ice, stuck out an arm and punched the unsuspecting opponent in the face. Not that I would ever speak favorably of such a thing, of course.

Actually maybe you're right about Allicock and Bochek combination. Allicock - Bochek - Skellet - 3rd Line Svoboda - Tront - Jaresek - 4th line What happens though when Paichis comes back? Looks like there may be more trading ahead.

Well, it didn't take watson long to start to put his fingerprint on this team. I like this trade mostly because we got some decent scoring help w/o having to give up any of our big three dmen. If watson continues to pull off trades like this he may quickly become the best GM/ director of hockey ops whatever that we've ever had. (not that thats hard)
