if he's an upgrade...why not? It sounds like he wasn't going to play in Peterborough so we shouldn't have to give up much.

Is this a depth move or trying to replace the current back up?

www.thepeterboroughexaminer.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1251822I found this story interesting. As most could probably have guessed, we did not acquire this goalie. But the quote from the goalie, saying Saginaw is interested by would like to see their backup goalie in some games first, is interesting. So, Watson wants to see what Lepera can do. I don't buy it. Maybe there is a reason why the kid was the third string goalie in Peterborough.

Watson gave him the 'ole "it's not you, it's me" line.

www.mlive.com/spirit/index.ssf/2008/10/spirit_insider_ed_pasquale_is.html#moreThis isn't a perfect fit, but since the article and the thread both mention Pasquale, here it is. I really hate to admit this, but I thought exactly the same thing about Combs' goal as Constantine............. Mark must not have been reading the Spirit Forum lately, as he writes nothing about Lepera's lack of PT!!

Mark must not have been reading the Spirit Forum lately, as he writes nothing about Lepera's lack of PT!! SF8...i'm going to disagree with you here (despite agreeing about Mark reading the forum). For once, Constantine got it right in not talking about Lepera. Lepera is not the story of the team, in fact, he hasn't even started a game. The story right now is the (early) emergence of Pasquale as a solid goaltender and that the new guys are creating excitement and putting points on the board. To talk about the back up goalie just adds to the typically negative overtones of Constantine's articles and I have argued on here before that he needs to do a better job of creating excitement for the community when the team is working hard and generating wins. Yes, I too am curious to see if Lepera could be a capable backup due to his few good games last season but right now, I want to sit back, enjoy some great Spirit hockey and enjoy an icy cold adult beverage. When they (hopefully don't) go on a losing skid, i'll be calling for the backup like the rest...until then: ED-E, ED-E, ED-E.

don--sorry, I guess I wasn't clear on that. You are correct, and I agree--a "Who's Hot" article shouldn't be discussing the backup goalie. I was just surprised that it didn't, given some of MC's articles that have been semi-plagarized from this site, and that Lepera has been a source of conversation here lately. I know it doesn't happen often--but we have no disagreement on this one!!!
