Where is everybody? Must be crying about Michigan losing to Toledo!! The Spirit extend their current winning streak to 3 games with a 5-2 win AT Sarnia tonight. That also makes the Spirit 2 for 2 at the SSEC this season. Looking forward to hearing comments about the game.
Let's make it a clean sweep this weekend with a win over "our pals" from Plymouth tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to predict that there will be a nice crowd tomorrow given how bad the Lions are.

Spirit out played and out work the Sting and deserved the win. Sting got down 2-1, their body language went south and so did their effort, they were even worse in the 3rd. That team does not look right to me. I've never been a fan of their coach. Pasquale played real well again, the Sting goalie looked weak. If he is their main goalie they are in trouble.

Where is everybody? Must be crying about Michigan losing to Toledo!! Who cares about Michigan? In fact, I didn't even know they lost to Toledo until you posted it. Doesn't surprise me though, the Wolverines pretty much suck this year anyway. The Spartans, on the other hand, did win and that's all that matters. As for "where did everyone go?", that's easy. The Spirit are doing good right now so there's nothing to talk about. Folks who would like to talk about the team and good things will just be ridiculed as being "Kool-Aid" drinking morons and who needs that? I am sure if the Spirit can manage a win today against Plymouth, the silence around these parts will be deafening. This board had gone down hill in a very short time because of a few posters who have managed to turn every thread into a conduit to spew their vial negative garbage. Most folks I talk to at the games who used to come here to discuss the Spirit just got tired of it. I understand that completely. I don't post here much anymore either. It's too bad really, but I guess that is the nature of the Internet where folks can hide behind a screen name. I much prefer discussing the game with real fans face to face at the game anyway. Hope you get back this way soon, section 18 misses you. Peace.

Talk about coming back to stir things up. Thanks so much for that take on the game, bp.
Looks like the Spirit turned it on in the third last night, making a close game pretty much a rout.
If we don't see Lepera this weekend, I'm going to start wondering why he's here--3 games in three days is pretty much a command performance for the backup .
Plymouth today--always a pleasure!! Looking forward to seeing Skellett after his solid intro games.
Do the Lions still play football?? Really--I had no idea...................0-16 really looks doable!

i agree if Lepera doesn't get the start than obviously Watson is looking for another back up. I do think Lepera was one of Edwards projects so maybe it's personal for Watson

I'm going to predict that there will be a nice crowd tomorrow given how bad the Lions are. I hope we have a big crowd. But with it supposedly getting up to 80 degrees here today, I think the attendance will be dismal. Go Spirt!

Talk about coming back to stir things up. Thanks so much for that take on the game, bp. I'm not trying to stir anything up. I was responding to a poster's questions. That is still allowed here isn't it? That said, the responses to my post, both for and against, should speak volumes about the nature of the posters in question. Keep in mind, I didn't mention any names. Just remember, you have an absolute right to avoid self incrimination. The right to remain silent is a beautiful thing. Peace.

Noticed Tront hasn't played the last two games ... is he injured?

Noticed Tront hasn't played the last two games ... is he injured? I was wondering about him as well. Last night they went with 7 defensemen and only 11 forwards. He's the only name that jumps off the page of scratched players.

3rd line is playing really well with Pleckaitis, Bochek and Allicock all looking good. Possibly Tront was feeling a little like J.McDonough and left? I'm sure we'll find out eventually but guessing as the announcers haven't mentioned him being hurt or anything?

Hope you get back this way soon, section 18 misses you. Peace. This COULDN'T have been more predictable. Spiritfan sees it for what it is. So do I. Congrats to the team on how well they're playing. All I ever asked for was the removal of the moron who you backed all the way. You were dead wrong on him, and instead of having the courage to admit it, we get the so predictable "this board just isn't what it used to be, sniffle sniffle". The adds of Skellett and Combs make a big difference in this team. Watson and the ownership pushed for the Skellett trade. Edwards blocked it after agreeing to it. spiritfan is right -- there's no one being negative, because a big positive -- the removal of Donkey and two big wins have everybody feeling better about where this franchise might go. It's fun to know there isn't this dead fish leading the organization to more disrespect and dishonor. We got what we wanted, and thus, satisfaction in that department has quelled some of our most vociferous complaints.

I think as long as everyone abstains from making things personal, there isn't anytrhing wrong with people disagreeing. if everyone here all thought the same, it would get boring. again as long as we don't get personal. you don't agree with someones opinion, that's fine. argue it, but argue it like adults.

I can't disagree with that. How could I? Quite logical.
I will say though that it's obvious that this a little like an election.
There was the anti-Edwards party and the pro-Edwards party.
Then a decision gets made, and obviously the polls for the anti-Edwards party shoot up sky high, and make any chance of losing the election, or in this case, "the argument for keeping Donkey or dismissing him soundly".
Then at that point, realizing the election/argument is lost. The pro-Edwards folks go "negative", because their credibility has taken a huge hit. So here come the talking points:
Those that wanted Edwards gone aren't true fans.
Those that wanted Edwards gone are just looking for SOMETHING to complain about.
Those that thought the Spirit made a massive mistake in hiring him in the first place don't know anything about hockey.
And so it went, and so it remarkably still goes. All without concession speeches from the leaders of the pro-Edwards group or an explanation for the character assassination and the "negative campaigning". LOL.
It's so far from surprising. But similar to how you could "support the troops" but be "against the war in Iraq", life is full of dichotomies. I'd rather be considered "negative" in my objectivity and considerable desire for this team to do well than by being the obvious bandwagon jumper who hides for six days when Edwards is gone, and re-emerges in the midst of a 4-game winning streak. As I said and though it was mocked and laughed at. I invest in this hockey club. Time and money and emotion. So do you. So do all of us. You were told that the only "investors" are Richard Garber and Craig Goslin. Tables have turned.
