I really like this kid, but I have got to ask one thing. what in the name of god was he thinking yesterday? it seriously looked like he was trying to score on his own team. its almost as if he had a mental lapse anf forgot what team he plays for. obviously it wasn't intentrional, if anything it was funny.

Can you describe in a little more detail what happened? There was a comment in the game thread mentioning that he doesn't belong in front of our own net.
Is he a center or a winger? That dictates where you play and what your responsibilities are in the defensive zone. In most defensive schemes I am familiar with the center's responsibilty is to help down low and the wingers generally are up high covering the point men.

Bottom Line -
I dont know who orchestrated this trade with Erie .. if DumDum didnt want to do it and Watson did or whatever the case may be
The impact Skellet could have on the Spirit for what they gave up IMO could be one of the best trades of the year for the entire league.
I know the deadline will probably see some blockbusters but virtually we gave up an expendable defenceman for a first line player who will most likely be an OA next season and an impact OA as well.

So well said. It's changed everything. Expectations are more than a bit different now. Not through the roof and expecting them to be anywhere in Windsor's class, or Kitchener's or London's is still wrong, as all those teams are still not playing with a full lineup, either. But Breen wasn't the difference between winning and losing games. Ever. This guy could be. Just think how Erie felt when Geoff Platt fell into their lap, thanks to a couple dinners between Sherry Bassin and Richard Garber.

Yeah, but I think morale-wise, Saginaw was better off without Platt. He was a little punk. At least at the end he was.

I always liked how he played. I had no complaints. Lots of players wanted out of Saginaw back then.
Besides, that's how Erie feels about Skellett. Get rid of him at any cost, and they basically did.

Here's what happened - the puck was along the boards in the defensive zone. Skellett picked it up, with nobody around, and looked to be killing time. He skated backwards into the crease with the puck, and tried to slide it back to Pasquale to cover. Two Plymouth players came barreling in and took swipes at the puck, forcing Pasquale to make a pretty good save. I'm still trying to figure it out. That's how I saw it.
Erie received some contributions out of Platt, and after seeing Skellett play this weekend, I think he will be a good contributor to the Spirit this year and maybe next.
