WOW!!!! There are a LOT of people out there who think Cunningham is one of--if not THE best announcer in the OHL. I've only heard him a couple of times, but he is very very good.
The Spirit have scored a major coup in this hiring--full props to management for pulling this one off!!!!

WOW! The Spirit got that one right, for sure! GREAT CHOICE! I liked that Ben Holden (or whatever his name was) too, but Leigh will be an exceptional addition here!!!
The press release says he will be calling the Saturday night game this week... so who's doing the game tonight?

Did the Saginaw front office just make TWO good moves in a row?
Since basically doing nothing right since April 2007??? Haha. It's a joke. Really. I kid.
Nice hire. It really is. As great as it was to get Greg Brady in 2002 to start the franchise and be with them for five years, what was the reasoning behind not bringing Leigh from North Bay in the first place?
They both are real real strong....he's definitely a homer and less objective than Brady -- but his knowledge and insight will be great....

Actually, they did, in a way. Leigh did some games. Even did some with Brady. I can't recall all of the details, but I think there was some immigration issues. Leigh only did games that originated in Canada. Early on the Spirit found a winner in Brady and as they say, "The rest is history". |

Thanks for that info. Leigh did leave Sarnia Sting TV and Terry Doyle high and dry....but it was a fulltime gig and in this economy, I'd never pound on a guy's loyalty for that... Weird strange world...given Brady replaced Leigh with the Centennials/Spirit....then Leigh left and Brady worked a lot with Doyle in Saginaw...including their on-ice bits during the AllStar game skills competition... Then Brady leaves to replace Leigh AGAIN in Windsor....Leigh goes to Sarnia to work with Doyle.....Brady leaves Windsor to go for the big job and hopefully bigger bucks in Toronto....and higher mortgage payment - it's pricey there! Then....Brady comes back and does some fill-in...but not after Doyle does the 1st game of the season -- then Leigh leaves Doyle for Saginaw...and Doyle is alone in Sarnia. So the obvious question is... Where is Sean Beligian?  |

So the obvious question is... Where is Sean Beligian? lol, I emailed him a couple weeks ago. Apparently he is quite happy with "It is what it is" his radio show in Detroit. |
