What's the scoop on the game today?
Why is there no news?
Last years trade with Belleville seems to be paying off huge right now. Could Mursak or Williams been as big an influence on the outcome of a game as Eddie has been the last 2 games-- I think not.
Both Williams and Mursak are not back this year so maybe it is not as horrible as everyone thought all last year.
Good weekend for the Spirit.

Interesting game, not one penalty called. Do you guys like games called like that? I'm glad we won and the game seem to go by fast.

Good game and went by very quickly. Also glad Saginaw came out with the win but I found the game kind of boring and uneventful (IMO).

game was boring, but a win is a win. im getting worried about szwarz. he seems to be going through a bit of a slump, and he looks depressed out there. being one of my favorite players, I hope he is ok. all in all a good weekend and this team continues to show its for real. as for the lack of penalties? there were calls on both sides that should have been made. the league needs to sit these refs down and go through the rules again. too many times have I watched refs not make calls that you know they saw and there are a lot of times where they blatantly call games in one teams favor (yes it happens don't kid yourself). its rediculous and I feel if refs and linesman are gonna do this crap, they should be fined or suspended or even fired.

i liked the no penalties...it was a long way from the old "clutch and grab" and there were probably only about 5 or 6 calls that could have been made. Almost all of the potential penalties would've been the ticky-tack variety so i'm glad that the refs let the kids play.
with regards to szwarz, i heard he may have an injury...hand or finger or something like that so that's perhaps why he is not playing well. He's definitely slumping and I would add Sanderson to that list, i think he should be producing more.
Good 4 points on the weekend!!!!

dj, I agree completly on the penalties--I counted 4 that I thought "should have been called", and the game did not suffer from losing any of them. Whatever th refs were saying t the players about keeping it honest worked, and I applaud them for not calling something chintzy just to call something. Particularly impressive since Scott Hoberg was one of the refs. And before I make them sound too perfect--Good God, were they out of position on that Spirit goal they blew dead very early on. As in back by the blue line........... Not a very emotional game, but plenty to watch. Pasquale was very good. Among non-stars, I thought Joe Pleckaitis has a good night. As far as Sanderson, I think he was well matched up w/ Muro and Joe P, and has suffered since that line was broken up. Another good weekend for the Spirit. Good job to take advantage of home ice.

Well, I made it to the game today. And I thank mievl for the thoughts. I think Saginaw was very fortunate today. Kitchener played a pretty good game, and I thought for most of the game they outplayed Saginaw. But, two points are two points.
Szwarz is going through the growing pains of the league. He still seems to be working very hard on the ice, but he just is not getting the breaks right now. I thought the other two members of his line were excellent today, especially Pleckaitis, who deserved to be a star over Combs today.
Pasquale was nothing short of amazing today. Some of the saves he made were mind-boggling. How he was not the first star I have no idea. Oh wait a minute... I have an idea.
