Quite the penalty filled game... 16 calls already & we have a half a period to go yet!
11 Spirit players with a point tonight (Combs with 2). Scoring by committee!
I am stuck at home listening on the radio... dang flu!

7-2 Saginaw late in the 3rd, Spirit heading to the Power Play. 13 of 18 players for Saginaw now have a point. 6 guys with at least 2 points, Combs has 3 points. Spirit closing in on 50 shots on goal! WOW! What a game!
FINAL! 7-2 Spirit! Good win!

So, let me get this straight. I surfed on this board all summer expecting to see concise and analytical predictions on the Spirit performance for the coming year.
All we saw from June through August were the doom and gloom predictions on the team. "Issues" such as "Who's going to score the goals?", "How can we win without the graduating vets?" and the goaltending was "Questionable" at best.
Well don't look now Spirit "fans", but the club is 11-6, sit 5th overall in the league, are 4th in the league in scoring offense and are 6th overall in goals against average.
Boy, I'm so glad I spent the entire summer coming here for "insight" on the hockey club.

igive2, you just need to know who to listen to and who to ignore.
here's a few examples of what I have been saying;
From the predictions thread, July 1;
"That our three over agers will be McDonough, Combs and Chappell." (well, two out of three ain't bad)
"That Saginaw will finish 2nd in the division and 4th in the conference and win, for the first time, their first round playoff series." ( so far this one is spot on.)
From the predictions thread, Aug 3;
"look for Chris Chappell to wear the C" (in all honesty, I did say that if Jack is back, he would get the C, but I was the first one to put Chappell in the mix)
From the player signings thread Aug 26;
"To my way of thinking a "bad" prediction is one that has no chance of coming true. Now if I had said that I predict Hillary Clinton would be the next president, that would have been a bad prediction. I think my prediction is a good one for one reason and one reason only, Todd Watson. I can't imagine Todd having a team that is not as good as last year's. The problem I see on this board is that there are so many folks just freaking out because of who won't be here without any real good discussion about who will be. There are going to be players on this team nobody has even mentioned that by year's end just might get voted "fan favorite". Think Tyler Murovich. ( can you say Jordan Skellett) How can I say this with such confidence? It's simple, because it happens every year. There is no reason, or evidence available, to think this year will be any different."
These are just a few examples of in-site that was provided that has been pretty darn accurate. I just hate it when folks say that "everyone was predicting gloom and doom", for the record, I wasn't. I could give you plenty more examples but these few are enough to make my point. Peace.

To be completely fair and honest, this isn't a discussion about the front office or the organization as a whole. The doom and gloom referenced in igive2's post was about the team. Just the on ice part, you know the players. About how good or bad the team would be. The predictions and posts I made this past summer were about the team. It has been said here that "everyone" was preaching doom and gloom about the team and the teams performance. Well everyone wasn't predicting doom and gloom because I, for one, was not. My predictions at the time, as now, have nothing to do with the front office.
There is a huge difference between having inside info, which by the way, I never do and making predictions based on history and analyzing the current situation and the current list of players. Weighing strengths and weaknesses and formulating an opinion based on that.
One thing I would like to make perfectly clear. I don't consider someone predicting doom and gloom to be negative posting. I don't consider someone coming on here and saying they don't like something about the team to be negative posting. Personal attacks and name calling is what I consider to be negative posting. I think it's healthy to disagree once in a while, it's what makes for good board and a complete board. Sometimes you have to agree to disagree and that's ok too. Personal attacks and name calling are never ok in my book.
I am also not a big fan of thread hijacking even though I do participate in that every once in a while. This thread, for instance, is a good example of that. Apparently there was a game last night and the purpose of this thread was to talk about that. Go figure. Peace.

a lot of great "skill" goals last night with a good job of seeing teammates and putting the puck on the tape.
Also, did anyone see what Comrie did/said to get the extra 2 (unsportsmanlike). It looked to me like he just stood there and stared at the ref...the ref gave it to him quickly so there had to be something said.

Per Larry, the penalty box attendant, all Adam did was raise his arms and yell "Yeah".
