Don't look now, but in Peterborough the two guys in goal are none other than Parker VanBuskirk (Kitchener) and Ryan Daniels (Peterborough).
Ryan did not start but after Jason Missiaen gave up 5 goals on just 15 shots, he was brought in to mop up. Say what you want about both of these guys, but they are two of the nicest young men you will ever want to meet and I, for one, am glad for both of them that they have these chances to continue with their careers. Peace.

Why does every thread have to bash one player or another? Why can't we be happy that these two players whom used to be on our team are getting another chance to play as bpfox noted. They both are exceptional goalies and to say otherwise acwright, then you don't know hockey at all. For once I'd love to read about a good hockey game or certain plays and what not, yet instead everyone seems to feel better about themselves when they cut down another player. You have no idea what its like for them, so unless you can put that jersey on and play better, quit criticizing.
In Daniels defense he just got to Peterborough, wasn't expecting to play tonight, practiced only once yesterday and then is told to go in. New town, new team, maybe a little nervous..give him a break. I also remember many games where he had 30+ or 40 shots and only let in 2 or 3 goals. Must have forgotten that RD, eh?

Agree with what BP said about Daniels. A great kid. And his parents, Kelly and Doug, are also very nice folks. Always enjoyed talking to them at home and away games (they were at most of both). Wish Ryan the very best with the Petes (except when they play the Spirit, of course). Unfortunately, never had the opportunity to meet Parker, but certainly heard good things about him from many folks.

as someone who's family has taken in a few players, I got to know ryan pretty good. when he isn't on the ice, he is no different than any other kid. good luck ryan, hopefully you'll get to the show someday.

Daniels gives up one goal on 8 shots, thats the RD I remember. that's petty...sure he may have underperformed in the playoffs but he was a very good goaltender for us for a few years, we could have had a lot worse! pretty funny though...shows how some guys can play together for a while...travel around to many teams (including pros) ...and then end up less that 200' from each other as opposition.

spiritgirl04, I'm sorry we are supposed to keep our opinions to ourselves on a forum now I guess. RD was too much of a headcase all the opposing fans had to do was chant his name and he would get all rattled that is something he should be over by the time he gets to this level. Great job by watson by the way salvaging a 4th rd pick out of him.

I'm sorry we are supposed to keep our opinions to ourselves on a forum now I guess. i never asked you to do that...all i did was offer my opinion of your comment and gave information supporting my opinion...no need to get all excited on a message board, sheesh!

AC, I would have to agree with other on this. RD had some pretty good games for Saginaw. you cannot expect a goalie to win a playoff game when your team only scores one goal. Is he a great goalie-no. He is a solid ohl goalie. Unfortunately it doesn't appear at this time that he will go any further. Playing with a new team and just arriving in town did not help him in that game. We all have players we like and players we don't like. Nobody is saying that you should not express your opinion. However, maybe we need to cut the kid a little slack at this time.

ac-I wasn't asking you to keep your opinions to yourself, I was simply saying that there is a way of saying things politely or just saying things without thinking about it. The players read these boards and sometimes reading someone bashing you everyday gets a little difficult and sort of ticks you off, contrary to popular belief these boys are great kids and are trying their best to make something of themselves.
