Saginaw leads it 1-0 after 1 period on a goal by JAAAAAAAACK Combs. That's 4 straight games with a goal for my St. Louis, MO homeboy.

Just getting here to tune in... I noticed Szwarz wasn't listed on the scoresheet. I know we all were assuming a suspension, but no word of that on either the OHL website or the Spirit website. Did they say anything about it that anyone heard? Tonight's game scoresheet: www.ontariohockeyleague.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=15422

3-1 Whalers with about 5 minutes left in the 2nd. They scored 2 goals in about 40 seconds and then one later on in the period.

Spirit lose 5-1. Sounded a little nasty at the end... Combs fights late in the game & ends up with 2 for cross checking, 2 for instigating, 5 for fighting & a 10 minute misconduct all on the same scrum... Allicock drops the gloves at the end as well...

Got nasty for sure. He'll be out tomorrow with the instigator, fighting, 10 minute misconduct and game misconduct.

Nice to see emotion, but S-T-U-P-I-D to take a penalty like that, especially after the game is over!

Yah but you have to step up and defend your players. I give him credit .... only player today to make the effort to stand up for the team .... no emotion in this game at all.

Went down to the game. Left with around 5 minutes left in the game. An absolute horrible performance by the Spirit. Combs also missed an wide open empty net goal in the 3rd period. Oh well, bring on Windsor.

I was also at the game. It was a poor performance by most. Combs missed the wide open net because he was slashed right when he shot he. Too many turn overs in our zone by defense. I think there were 3 intercepted passes at our blue line.

FWIW, and not an excuse for the outcome of the game, I was told that *at least* one of the better Spirit players had the flu last night. OTOH, The Whale was missing their "best" player, Chris Terry (mono). Chris has nearly twice as many points as any other Whaler. Goalie Jeremy Smith, who has been struggling all season, played exceptionally well. Bottom line: Plymouth played the better game and certainly deserved to win. CSA is a very tough building for an opposing team to play in. They also have what has to be the most irritating, obnoxious, sickening PA announcer I've ever heard: Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalers Goooooooooooal. UGH!!!!
