Through 1 period, Saginaw leads 2-0.
Goals by Combs (bounce from boards to slot through 5 hole) and Comrie (breakaway after coming out of box).
Spirit killed 2-man advantage, with both penalties coming via contact with the goaltender (charging and interference).
Pasquale dynamite in first.
Let's keep it going!!!

Spirit win in OT
Combs with the game winner on the PP.
Hate to give up points to teams chasing you in the conference. But, a win is a win. They did a lot of standing around in the third, playing not to lose instead of to win. It cost them, but we get the W in the long run.
Todd will not be happy!!! But, he is sick so he may not yell a lot tonight.

Yes. They said at the beginning of the game he would not be playing due to illness. It was mentioned on the broadcast from Owen Sound about the flu making the rounds through the Saginaw locker room.
Hopefully Ty will be back on Friday.

Tyler was back at the Days Inn with the flu. Todd did look a little pale behind the bench. Guys played well in the first, then seemed to go into a "protect the lead" mode after that. Jakub Svoboda was on a line with Chappell and Combs and looked very comfortable.
The Attack seemed somewhat disorganized thru most of the game, altho they came to life in the 3rd.
Eddie made some absolutely outstanding saves during the game, especially a couple of glove saves in the first. Attack fans at Shorty's B & G were raving about him after the game.
Cindy Chappell drove all the way up here from Pickering. She is following the parents of one of the Attack players back home. Several other parents also came up for the mid-week game. It is really great to see the support that many of the parents give their boys.
On to Guelph tomorrow night to watch Nick, TJ and the Canadian boys take on the Russians. Then on to Sudsbury (sic) and Barrie. "4 in 4". Not too bad for us watching, but think of Nick & TJ. Bet they'll sleep well on the bus coming home from Barrie.

chapells parents are absolutely the nicest people you could hope to meet. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know them over these last few seasons.

chapells parents are absolutely the nicest people you could hope to meet. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know them over these last few seasons. Totally agree . And by no means are they the only ones. We have been fortunate to get to know quite a few of the parents and. without exception, they are genuinely very, very nice folks. Just had a celebratory drink with two players' parents after tonight's game in the hotel lounge.
