QUESTION: What's the next best thing to ShanghaiSpiritFan showing up for the game live and in person??
ANSWER: Mrs. ShanghaiSpiritFan showing up for the game live and in person!! That's right, my better half will be in attendance Sunday afternoon when the Hound Puppies come calling at "The Herbie". She will be with her mom, her sister, and her sister's husband in lower level section 20. They weren't able to get 4 seats together in section 18.
BPFox....my 2 seats in lower level section 18 were still available when I contacted the Spirit office the other day to get my wife her tickets. If your wife and daughter were thinking about going you should be able to get my 2 seats unless they were purchased in the last day or so.
I will be up bright and early at 5 am in Shanghai listening to the audio webcast. How about another weekend sweep, eh!! GO SPIRIT!!

I was looking at the standings earlier and I realized if the playoffs started today, both the Soo and Plymouth wouldn't make it. How weird is that?
The Hounds are struggling right now (just 3 wins in their last 10 games) and did play last night so let's take advantage of yesterday's off day and come out with lots of pressure. Go Spirit!

Anyone know why the game is not streaming on the web or on the radio on 100.5?
Later edit - now it is on late in the first period but the dropouts or obviously back...

4-2 Saginaw with 6:25 left in the 2nd period. Underwood, Brodie, Fillman, and Murovich have the goals for the good guys.

Looks like Paluso is looking for someone to dance with. I don't think it will be allicock who's playing with a brace and dislocated shoulder although the announcers don't seem to know and feel he should dance with him!

found it pretty unfair to allicock, who has stepped up several times for the team, to be chirped by his own announces for not fighting Paluso with a bad shoulder! We have several others who could have stepped in. Great game for the Spirit and another great weekend!

Great game by the Spirit, although several of the goals the Soo made wouldn't have happened had our D been covering the open guy on their team. Ah well. A couple questionable calls tonight, but several were pretty fair on both sides. All the five on threes was a little crazy, but whatever. The first goal was pretty weak, it came about 10 seconds after me telling my wife "Pasquale has been on fire lately." But they made up for it.
Chappell was amazing tonight. Good to see him get the first star, he definitely deserved it. I still love Murovich and the fact that the kid NEVER stops trying. Combs looked good (it's only my second game seeing him this year) and it's good to see he's playing like the Combs from late-2007 rather than the Combs from early-2008. Him and Chappell seem to be working REALLY well together, which is likely why the two lead in points and goals for the Spirit.
Crawford got a star tonight for two assists, which is great, but as for defense he didn't seem to do much. Maybe I just missed it though.
Like I said, overall a great game. Good to see them take it to the Soo once again. Some of the Soo players tried to make it a little chippy, but I still have a lot more respect for that team as opposed to the Knights for example, who always seem to play dirty when they're behind.
Another weekend sweep. Go Spirit!

im sorry eagle, did you say we have others who could of stepped up to peluso? if that's what your saying, you obviously don't know who peluso is. there is nobody on the spirit capable of fighting peluso other than allicock. im thinking its time we pick up an enforcer. allicock is still nursing a sore shoulder and we really could use a guy to handle the other teams tough guys when they try crap like what peluso tried tonight.

Possibly but we can't expect Allicock to take a chance with his shoulder. I heard he's playing with a brace therefore probably can't even lift his arm high enough to hold Paluso back. He has tangled with him before therefore we know he is capable but tonight wasn't the night when we're leading in the game. We'll see what happens next Friday .... Again, great weekend for the Spirit.

How about this for an idea. Let's see how Paluso looks in a Spirit Jersey. Problem solved! Word on the street says he's available. Could be a nice addition. Saginaw has the skilled players in place but sure could benefit with some added toughness for a playoff run. I thinks it's worth looking into that's for sure.
On a side note to ShanghaiSpiritFan, your wife did end up in lower 18 after all as she came and sat in Gary's seats.

Well, that explains why I couldn't locate her in Section 20!!!!!
bullet points on game:
---not Eddie's best day, but the offense bailed him out and he is certainly due a couple where they do!! The second goal was not at all his fault.
--Most of the team played well. but I thought Comrie had a very poor game. In general, he doesn't seem to have made the progress that Brodie and Crawford have, which is disappointing. Not to give up hope, though, as he has a ton of potential.
--Speaking of Crawford, does anyone know anything about his apparent injury late in the game? And why has Skellett not played in the last 2 games?
--Richard Jarusek looks to have gained a lot of confidence just lately. He skated very well today, and had some good chances. I didn't see him in the thrid period, although the third period was mostly special teams.
--Has anyone on the team improved more than Chris Chappell?
--Soo coaching staff couldn't have been happy with the three 5 on 3s that the Spirit got today, especially since they came before the game was out of hand (Unlike the ones that the Spirit gave up, although they still weren't good to see) Lack of discipline such as that very uncharacteristic for the Hounds. Difference in coaching?
--Mitch Fillman--3 points in last 4 (I think) games?? Nice job!
This team just keeps rolling along and gaining confidence. You can see that they believe in themselves, and it's a lot of fun to see. Keep it up guys!

On a side note to ShanghaiSpiritFan, your wife did end up in lower 18 after all as she came and sat in Gary's seats. I heard!! She called me late in the game and told me. She was very impressed with the Spirit. Obviously wasn't there yesterday but has Gary been showing up for any games or not??
