FYI. Tickets for the Dec. 16th Spirit game against the Spits in the brand new Windsor Family Credit Union Centre went on sale at 10am today. Can be ordered on-line thru the WFCU Centre website or by calling (519)254-5000.
We "toured" the new facility before the Nov. 28th Spits' game and it is simply fantastic. 4 sheets of ice, including the arena. Seats about 6,500. Totally first-class all the way. Much different from where the team played at the Barn. Still not completely finished, so the first few games may lack many amenities. It is several miles from the Detroit-Windsor tunnel, so not as convenient to get to as the Barn (edge of downtown) was.

It is a great facility. It might not be as convenient to get to but it is in a much nicer part of town. Still as always, there may be issues finding a place to park on game nights, not nearly enough parking places.

I can't imagine that the municipality where the new arena is built would allow them to skimp on parking. can't be any worse than the Barn, holy crap I hated finding a parking space around there!

Theres parking for about 3500. The new arena seats 6500 in the one rink alone, not to mention the other rinks they have...Should be better parking than the barn but if theres a tournament going on parking could get interesting.

Umm, 6500 seats, typically 2 -4 persons per car so lets say 3 that's about 2167 spaces for the main arena, tournaments usually are several people packed into one vehicle so 1300 spaces +/- should be adequate for the other rinks. I wish I could make the trip this year but the economy has me staying close to home even though gas prices are plummeting.

Road leading into the WFCU Centre complex is a new extension of McHugh Street. Name is soon to be changed to Mickey Renaud Way. From what we could see when there a couple of weeks ago, there should be adequate parking.
