2-0 Whalers after 2 periods. Seguin and Terry have the goals for Plymouth. Man...why do we always have trouble with these guys?!?

3-0 Whalers midway through the 3rd. Oh well can't win 'em all I guess.

Too little, too late. Plymouth wins it 3-2. I see Brodie took a hooking penalty with about 2 minutes to go in the 3rd period. That can not happen when your team is down by a goal unless it saved a sure goal for Plymouth.

sol must have the cage off now since he had a fight tonight...hopefully he can take Chappell and Breen's spot as a big guy who can step up and throwem

Plymouth now leads the season series 2-1. Before Velluci: Saginaw wins a game After Velluci: Saginaw loses twice Anyone see a pattern developing here??

Yes, I see a pattern, we lose a game and the sky is falling, or we lose to Plymouth and now we can't beat Plymouth ever again. Hopefully you were being sarcastic, and not knee jerk like too many others on the forum.

Hopefully you were being sarcastic, and not knee jerk like too many others on the forum. A bit sarcastic but a bit realistic at the same time. It seems like all sports are like this. There is always one team that no matter what the circumstances you just can not seem to beat and for the Spirit that team is Plymouth.

I agree with the "sky is falling" pattern. The Spirit goes on a tear for a month and the average game thread contains 3 maybe 4 posts average at best per game. Now, with a loss, 10 posts already. Anyone see a pattern yet?

Spirit have done well...no one is questionning that.
I will say the team and coach seem "tighter" for games against Plymouth. We all know that Vellucci was Coach Watsons Mentor and groomed him for the head coaching position, often its tough on a young coach to go back into the building he cut his teeth in and treat it as "another game".
The team clearly plays of that emotion, and its been a rough building for the Spirit for the last two years.,
The expression on Watson's face said it all....from what I understand - our boys have been told they will pay a price for missing two periods, sounds like Coach Watson will get this fixed...and back to our winning ways.
Let's keep it going boys...

Cody battled to what I saw as a draw with Jamie Devane, a '91 that is almost identical in size. Cody lost his hat about half way thru the tilt. Both landed a couple, but no damage was done to either player. He wore only a visor last night.
First period was basically a game of shinny. Don't know what was said on the radio, but Rosie told us between periods that he got some much-needed rest.
Our guys continued playing the same way in the 2nd, but definitely picked up the pace during the 3rd. Just a case of "too little, too late". Had PP chances, but couldn't do much with the advantage. First two periods reminded me of the game the Spirit played down at CSA in mid-November.
Crowd was listed at 1,724, but they must have counted the players, coaches, officials and ushers. Very few Saginaw fans were in attendance, which is unusual for a game at CSA. Talked briefly with Adam Bell, formerly of the Spirit front office. He is doing well. Nice young fellow.
Looked around, but could not spot either Scotty Fletcher or his dad. Strange that either one wouldn't be there, given his joining the Whale seems "imminent" (hey, a Cameron Knowles word!).

There were maybe a 1,000 people there and the building might have been 60 degrees. Game could have gone either way, especially if the Spirit got the first goal. They had their chances to score. The Plymouth goalie played well and their defense is really good in front of him (blocking shots, clearing rebounds). The Combs line could not get going, Svoboda is not the answer. Watson tried Swarz and Fillman on the right side of that line to get it going. They really miss Skellet. Crawford really got embarrassed on the Terry goal. Guys got down 3-0 and could have quit, but did not. Murovich had strong game. I'm starting to think Pasquale is running a little out of gas. Hopefully, he can make it to the break and come back refreshed.
