Maybe this belongs in the Just for Fun category, but it is hockey related, so here it is.
For all you Slap Shot movie fans (of which I am a huge one), this past weekend in Minnesota I picked up the just released Dave Hanson (Chiefs #16) autobiography. Title is "Slap Shot Original - The Man, The Foil, The Legend". Read the forewards, introduction and first chapter in the motel late last night. Laughed out loud enough that I PO'd my wife a bit.
From what I've seen so far, it is a must read. Gets into behind the scenes stuff that happened during the filming of the movie, as well as much discussion about his time in the minor leagues.
Also is mentioned in the intro (written by the Carlson brothers) that there is a Slap Shot III in the works. Sure hope that it turns out better than Slap Shot II.
Dave still manages an ice rink in Pittsburgh. Bet he knows the Murovich family.
