It looks like there is an article in today's Saginaw News about John & Shirley Thompson, but the link on mlive.com doesn't work. Can anybody else get the story on the internet and post the link here?

What section does John sit in at the Dow? The reason I ask is there is a couple that sit down in front of me that fit their description and I would introduce myself. I have never really met anyone from here except Stu and that was just a brief hello.

I believe they sit in lower 17 as I sit in upper 17 and I see them down there a lot.

Thanks ac! They're not who I thought they were. There is a couple that sit down in front of us that seem to be VIPs of sort. I have noticed that they have been invited to go up top and watch the game. I guess there are more VIPs there then I thought :-)

Nice article and the Thompsons are awesome for their passion and dedication. I truly admire and respect that.
My sister, daughter, and I were in Plymouth Saturday night and of course the first visiting fans we see are the Thompsons. The Spirit are fortunate to have great fans and yes, it is definitely more fun when you see the team win on the road. (Something we didn't get Saturday night)
GO SPIRIT!!!

Thanks for the compliments, folks. We truly appreciate them. Mark captured the essence of why we follow the team so closely on the road. In other words, he "captured the spirit of the thing" (Dickie Dunn quote).
If anyone would like to talk Spirit hockey with us, we sit in Sec. 17, Row J (top row in lower bowl), Seats 9-10 at the Dow. A couple of our friends say we can be identified as "bald and blonde".
Please stop by and say hello. We'd love to meet some of you. During the 1st intermission, we walk over to Section 18 to chat with friends that sit in that area.
If anyone is contemplating making a Spirit roadtrip, we can offer some helpful tips for vitually every arena/city that they play in.
