everything's going to be syndicated by the end of the year...it's going to be too expensive to pay all of the local people. I do happen to like many of the (especially fox) syndicated shows but you need to have some local homers that do all local, all the time

Detroit radio is a tough market. I was working down there this time last year when WXYT canned a bunch of people. I was listening to them on the drive down on a friday, then Monday morning it was a whole new bunch, and they were afraid for their jobs. Tough gig, I guess the internet is starting to wipe out other forms of media, TV is next.

I read last week where the Sports Extra 1330am in Flint just fired their staff and is now going to syndicated sports programming. They're owned by the same company that owns WHNN, WIOG, Z93, and Wheels. I hope they don't make any changes here.
