Saginaw up 2-1 in the later stages of the 1st period. Whoever is doing the online game cast in Ottawa has no idea what they're doing since the stats aren't available. But it does say Pleckaitis and Zaborsky have the goals.

Saginaw has an offensive explosion in the 3rd period. Swarz, Combs, Murovich, and Jason McDonough all score to make it 6-2 Spirit with 5:17 left in the 3rd period.

seems the spirit are finally turning things around out there! these road wins are huge. any details on the allicock fight? he is doing exactly what fletcher did when he first started with the spirit. started out quiet, then came out of nowhere and started fighting. well i guess we know who our new enforcer is.

Beautiful 5 hole by Zaborsky. It seems that the spirit did a good job of shutting down the 67's.

Watching the 2nd period it seemed that the Spirit laid back quite a bit and let the 67's control the puck most of the period.
Over all in the 3rd the Spirit are playing very conservative with an explosive response on any mistakes that the 67's make.
The 67's are skating with desperation and alot of hustle. The Spirit are skating with a calm and powerful stride and that the 67's are struggling to catch.
Great game for the Bus.

Saginaw 7, Ottawa 2 - Final! Shots on goal were 42-24 in favor of Saginaw.
4 out of 6 points on the weekend. Quietly, the Spirit have moved into a 4th place tie in the Western Conference. Great effort by Saginaw this weekend!
Saginaw will play a 3-in-3 next weekend: at Sarnia on Friday, home vs. Mississauga-St. Michael's on Saturday, and home vs. Niagara on Sunday.
On a side note, Ryan Berard scored his first goal of the season today in Sarnia's 3-1 loss. In 11 games he has 1 goal, 2 assists, and a -7. The trade for Van Buskirk is looking pretty good right now.

No details on todays fight but here is the one from Peterborough. dropyourgloves.com/Fights/GameEvents.aspx?Game=144770&Fight=142290#Fight142290Allicock is physical and probably just trying to find his place for some ice time. I've seen this kid play and he's got great hands and can score some big goals. Saw him play a while back in Minor Midget at the ohl cup in Toronto with the Tor Red Wings.

Ottawa will be a much tougher test. Here's hoping for at least a point on Sunday to make it a 3 point weekend. WOW!!! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see this morning (Shanghai time) that the Spirit hammered Ottawa with a big 3rd period outburst. Taking 4 out of 6 points on the far eastern road swing is a very good weekend. Let's finish off this extended string of road games by making it 2 straight against the "Stink" this Friday night.

All I can say is WOW.
What a team effort. Other than the unfortunate webcast - at times I thought I was watching a Kitchener or London play....DOMINATED Ottawa. I mean they out hit, out skated and out smarted Ottawa all game long. That was a great game to watch.
Nice to see the Goaltending step it up. Buskirk was solid - he probably wanted that first one back - but otherwise was solid. What really impressed me was how the D handled the pressure from Ottawa, numerous times I saw the GLASS IT HIGH play and Out it goes. Especially the young D were looking good. I love the way Brodie plays - he has got that uncanny ability to make a pass tape to tape. The other stars to me where Murvich and Pleckaitis. Why would Barrie give up on him - man - for Cloutier this was a steal of a deal. That little Murvich will be a fan favourite if he keeps the work ethic up. Mursak was flying all game long, and Zabo finally finished off some plays. They'll be a force.....
All in all my hats off to Coach Watson - he has our boys playing harder than most teams night in night out and they are starting to come together. Next week is a huge test with Sarnia-St. Mike's and Niagara - 3 teams that are all decent.
We'll see - but I trust we're heading in the right direction - great job boys.
