I heard on the radio (WSGW) that on Tuesday morning at the Sunoco on Mackinaw they will be giving away promo. in relation to the gamae that night. Didn't give a time, but it is during the morning broadcast. They talked to L. Cunningham on the radio this morning about the game last night also.

Per the Saginaw Spirit office today, promotion sponsored by CAN COUNCIL ?? Starts at 7am Tuesday morning, canned goods donations and the first 50 PEOPLE get a PAIR of TICKETS to the game TOMORROW night . . . Promo lasts until tickets are gone . . . What a joke and it isn't even advertised . . . Most People I assume already have Their tickets for the game I would think . . . Why can't WE advertise a little better for this? WHATEVER Hopefully the Spirit works on BETTER promotions for next year instead of magnet schedules several games,How about breakin down and givin out pucks, hats,or SOMETHING DECENT

I heard something like this on WSGW yesterday...I think there are various locations in the Tri-Cities where you take some canned goods starting at 7am and you get 2 free tickets, as mentioned above. I don't know exactly where to go, however....I could be wrong.

If they advertised it, it would be over in 5 minutes, not quite the effect. This way they can have a sign out on the busy state street for much longer advertising the game and still give away all the tickets to help fill the seats. People that missed it, might just say "hey, I forgot there's a game tonight, better go get my tickets." Marketing 101 don't advertise and advertisement! Oh, and most importantly, getting the donations!

With the way this team keeps giving away free tickets, it makes me wonder why I pay for them.

With the way this team keeps giving away free tickets, it makes me wonder why I pay for them. I understand what you’re saying igive, I've been a season ticket holder since day one and even though I was going to boycott my season tickets on at least one occasion, I broke down and bought them anyway. But, my good friend Wren Blair was a marketing genius and he told me, "it's better to pad the seats a little than to have empty seats, if people perceive a large crowd, they will buy their tickets in advance for the next game." also "get them in the door and they'll get hooked" was another of his sayings. The down-fall of the gears was when the new owners pulled all the "free tickets" that were given to the media (radio and TV) and various organizations.

a butt in a free seat also can buy more concessions than an empty seat
