So what is the news concerning assistant coaches. I see Camp's picture is no longer on the website so he must be gone. I'm guessing this is old news for everyone on the board. Curious if anyone knows who might be coming in? I heard they would not offer Camp a long term deal even though he wanted to move the whole family.

hoo hum...... where is our new assistant coach and new trainer? latest article stated that we should know by late last week or early this week. I'm starting to wonder whats going on Owen Sound assistant coach resigned last week and they already replaced him? Is there a fear of coming to Saginaw? im hoping to just sit back relax and like the ole saying goes " good things come to those who wait" However the home opener at The Dow is right around the corner but feels like forever for those who wish it was Today.

I heard Paige was not coaching with the Spirit this year. Now I'm assuming that source was wrong since his picture is still on the page, but I guess we'll wait and see while there is a mad scrammble to get all their ducks in line very soon. Still Waiting

I was beginning to wonder when they might finally make a change there. maybe they can find a guy who can get the most out of Ryan Daniels this season. Goaltending will be more important than ever this season if Saginaw hopes to have any kind of success.

Mark Constantine referred to this in his column a couple of days ago, saying that is why Wilson is gone. Of course, he did manage to refer to Edwards as a Vezina winner, rather than a Jennings winner......

[/quote] Don and Bob Sauve won the Vezina in 1979-80 with Buffalo, the next to the last year before they changed the criteria for winning the award. He never won the Jennings Trophy (which began in 1982) according to my info.

My bad, johnt, and thank you for the correction. I made the often- fatal mistake of assuming. (in this case that the Vezina and Jennings criteria were the same then as now) I certainly did not mean disrespect to Mr. Edwards when I said this, as either award is pretty worthy. But for once, I'll have to include Mark Constantine in my apology, as he apparently got it right.............. Either way--he should be a decent goalie coach, for sure...........
