I doubt K-Zoo gave any thought into the OHL franchise. The article said that they considered the OHL but didn't like the concept of not having veterans return. I don't take that to mean there was a franchise up for sale or some kind of offer was made.
Attendance wise, things not so great during regular season. Attendance got up to around 2k per playoff game so not that bad, but there were around 6-700 people in attendance for a couple of the regular season games I went to (maybe nobody wants to see them play Flint?).
Either way. IHL hockey just isn't entertaining to me. You just don't get the kind of passion that kids in the OHL or even ECHL have. I am looking forward to going to a couple of the games, as Wings Stadium is only about a 7 minute drive from Western's Campus.

Speaking of which, K-zoo is 3-0 so far, all road victories. Home opener is tomorrow night.
