I can vividly remember seeing him cross check that linesman in the back after the opposing team scored a goal. A big long lawsuit followed.

Wren Blair told me about that law suit and how it was finally resolved, it took an hour to hear the whole thing but well worth it. I think it's also in his book, "The Bird"

I was wondering how long that was going to take for it to come out that the head trauma repeated over time cases this - I mean, yeah, it's common sense, but I doubt many people thought of this while they were playing. I just read a week or so ago, a long article on this subject that started after a WWE wrestler died, and the same findings were there with him, as well as another pretty famous wrestler who killed himself (after killing his family first). That's why the head shots in hockey have to be taken out. But I am sure a hard jarring check in the boards scrambles y our brain just as much as a direct head shot, so what can be done to protect these people? I know new helmets have been discussed, but will that really help?
