Interesting mock draft, but Tippett is from Peterborough and would the Petes pass on a top 5 hometown kid?
Note: Tippett is the first cousin of Mitchell Stephens. I wonder if that works to our advantage. Celine Dion is my ninth cousin (yes, I am THAT much French Canadian), but I don't see her coming here to sing the anthems anytime soon.

I'm just saying it might not be totally up to the front office. You could very well be correct on this one, but maybe not. I never thought they would trade Vince Trochek, but they did. I think it will depend on how the Spirit's season goes. We have already been told the goal is for the Spirit to contend in 2016/2017 so it will interesting to see how they think the team will need to be put together to make that happen. The Spirit have stock piled enough picks to add some pieces next season without losing too many players. That said, the Spirit are in a position where they don't have that many holes to fill in terms of players lost this year. Only Ringer can't come back. Boys next year are going to have to earn their spots that's for sure. They are not likely to lose anybody to the pros. The one possible exception would be Brown. He's not drafted, but he could get an invite to an NHL camp as a free agent. If he does well, he can play in the AHL next season. One of the things I found most interesting about this season was the fact even though this team was the youngest team to make the playoffs, they played the season with only 2 16 years when they were allow to have 4. I guess the draft will be are first glimpse of how they what direction they plan to take the team going forward. Should be fun.

If Sadowy gets traded for anything but an equivalent player at the deadline next season, I will regard the rebuild as a failure. By next season we should be looking at players, not draft picks/prospects. Will Sadowy be playing as a 19 yr old next season? If so, he will not be around for an OA season 2 seasons from now which is when everyone now says should be "our year". I assume you mean an equivalent player or players that are 17/18 yr olds next season so they will be 18/19 yr olds in the "go for it" season in 2 years? If so, I agree! Saginaw needs to be getting proven assets back for Sadowy, not draft picks. Next year will be Sadowy's final year in the O, so that's what I was talking about. And since I don't think there will be many 50 goal players up for grabs, my feeling is that he'd better not be traded, since anything of IMMEDIATE lesser value stamps the "rebuild" with the Loser mark...

The first thing to remember here is that there is no such thing as a player who is untradeable. Many factors go into a decision to make a trade. The needs of the team will always trump the needs of the individual player. As much as I like Dylan (he is my Wife's favorite player) I know he could very well be traded next season. Since he is not part of the Championship plan(he won't be in the league during the "go for it" year) and he would most certainly bring a high return from a team who is "going for it" next year, a trade must be considered. I'm fine with that. If trading Sadowy next year gets the Spirit to the promised land in 2016/2017 then I am on board with that trade.

Once again, I didn't say "untradeable"--I said for a PLAYER of equivalent value. Not picks and/or prospects.

Once again, I didn't say "untradeable"--I said for a PLAYER of equivalent value. Not picks and/or prospects. Sorry, I wasn't "calling you out" on your post. I was responding to your saying, and I quote, "my feeling is that he'd better not be traded" I was simply trying to point out that there are two sides of the Trade, Don't Trade argument. My guess is if a trade is offered up that sends Dylan to an contending team for a player that can have an impact in the following season, that trade will be considered if for no other reason than the fact is Dylan will most likely not be playing an over age season. I'm just trying to prepare people for might happen. Not saying it will happen or that I want it to happen, but I am being honest with myself enough to know it "could" happen.

Looks as tough David Levin will be going first overall to Sudbury. They should be introducing him as their pick sometime later this week.
In news relating to Saginaw: The Spirit trade Kitchener's 3rd rounder in this year's draft to Niagara for Kitchener's 3rd in 16 and our own 3rd in 17.
Adding some ammo for buying in 2016/17.

Haven't looked real hard, but where can I find a list of this years draft order? The list will be on the OHL website soon. With trades going on this week, the draft order is not set yet so any list you find right now won't be correct. First round is set, everything else is up in the air right now.

As expected, Sudbury is taking David Levin with the #1 overall pick. Was announced at a press conference moments ago.
