SF 8 Combs and Mcdonough aren't exactly Gagner and Kane. I do agree with your point . Just need to get something pretty darn good. ;D ;D ;D Wish they were!!!! Our thread would be taking a whole different direction then!! We are in agreement. Don't rule a trade out, but don't give them away because of age, and don't blindly keep them because of "next year". Good thread.

Well, Daniels name has started to pop up on the NOOF in the last day or so. The 2 teams mentioned are Oshawa and Kitchener. Both make sense given each teams goaltending situation. How about a package deal that includes both Daniels and McDonough?? If Edwards is talking with Kitchener I would think Kadri needs to be part of any trade he would make with them. It would be nice to get Del Zotto from Oshawa but word is he is not going to be dealt no matter what.
In either case I agree with BPFox. Edwards is in the drivers seat and shouldn't jump the gun. The price will continue to climb the closer we get to January 10th.

Are you so naive teamspirit08 to believe that Sinfields removal is the reason why the team has started losing? Or could it be the removal of the worst defensive defenceman in the OHL …. NIIIIIIIIGEL WILLLLLIAMS … Either that or you totally forgot Assume you meant "started winning"??

Conclusions: It looks like there could be a few buyers for Ryan Daniels. From the "favorites" Kitchener jumps out at me because they have very little experience and they could use some come playoff time. Oshawa is the other team that looks like they could use some better goaltending as well.

SSF - sorry I did mean started winning
BP - I mean I "can" see them trading Daniels. There is already 4 contenders. Pasquale is a good enough goalie to get them into the playoffs. He needs to play, he cant sit on the bench and play 1 out of 3 or what not. They have decided to have a younger team, primarily 1990's, experience and maturity are key in the playoffs.
Does anybody know where Lepera is playing this year? I cant find him anywhere on the Hockey DB or OPJHL website. If he isnt playing at a higher level and developing I cant see his development being any different then "Big Z's" in terms of next year and his readiness.

I just did an exhaustive google search and came up with NOTHING. I even tried looking at the High Schools in Oakville, ON to see if there was a roster or something like that. I'm sure he'll get a legit shot in camp next year.

I would not mess with the chemistry right now. As I stated last week, as long as they are winning, why disrupt that. Right now, the Spirit are the #7 seed and in the midst of the longest winning streak in franchise history. Can be buyers at the deadline instead of sellers come next week. I wish them well.

You sort of contradict yourself in this post...you don't want to disrupt chemistry but you say they can be buyers at the deadline. If you think they should do nothing, that's fine (to keep chemistry) but if you think they should be buyers, what would you be willing to give up for another scorer? PS - Tell OJ i say hi and that i hope his vegas case goes well.

just an FYI with regards to my opinion of Eddie Pasquale...my definition of "solid" is probably different than most, including my wife who i've had to explain it to as well. DJ - My wife has the same mental block! ;D SSF - I like that recipe for kool aid too! BPfox is correct imo. The Spirit should be a seller if a great deal comes around. Otherwise don't get junk for Daniels, McDonnough or Combs. My prediction is that Combs is gone, maybe Daniels (since the right offer may not come) and McD stays. spiritfan 08 - I'm not sure who told you the chemistry was that great but I have been told just the opposite, especially were Combs is concerned. Prior to the winning streak it was purportedly bad. If not for the 6 game streak I think it would be at a boiling point. And to my knowledge last years chemistry was very good. Don't let the playoff loss taint the fact that it was a really tight group. Winning has a way of making things seem better and losing makes everyone question all aspects.

I think spirifan08 was referring to this quote by Watson in the Saginaw News the other day: ''Guys are competing hard, we're getting timely goals and it's a good locker room right now,'' Saginaw head coach Todd Watson said. ''The guys are getting along right now. Of course, it's a good room when you are winning and they guys are really enjoying winning.'' www.mlive.com/spirit/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/119920442349120.xml&coll=9

Just in case there is any big arguing about the team chemistry coming up, it was teamspirit08 who commented on it, not me.............I get involved in enough big arguments all by myself!

Well, if Daniels is indeed on the block, scratch Kitchener off as a possible destination. Word on the NOOF is that London is about to trade Steve Mason to the Rangers. At least that's what I think is going on. I don't feel like reading through 98723497 pages of essay-long posts on the thread discussing it from the loony London fans.
Another rumored trade is Guelph's star defenseman Drew Doughty going to Windsor. Thought that'd be worth mentioning since they are close to us in the standings.

Sounds like its a done deal and will be announced in the next day or so. The biggest question mark throughout the NOOF thread is whether or not Kadri is involved, and if so, will he go to London immediately or will he go there once this season is over?? Looks like the only reasonable place Ryan Daniels might end up would be Oshawa. However, Oshawa could be shopping for the best deal between Saginaw and Sudbury (Sebastian Dahm).
