Just announced on TSN that Mason is going to Kitchener. Nice. Steve, at 1pm you're playing in the biggest game of your life, and oh, by the way--you've been traded............

Anyone else have a feeling that London might free fall in the standings? We all know how they've done this year without Mason in net...should be interesting. Meanwhile, I think that might put the Rangers over the top. Except when they play us

At last check, I think the Knights have won one game without Mason in net.

In the future, if you have to work, I'd be glad to text you the scores at the end of every period. I have unlimited texting on my cell phone plan. Just a suggestion and glad to help. I'm off to the game now! Go Spirit!

With Pasquale struggling tonight against London and Daniels coming in and playing well again in relief will that put an end to any thoughts Edwards might have of trading Daniels?? At the very least the price to get Daniels probably increased after tonight's game.

After tonight I'm not so sure I want to trade Daniels. Granted, every goalie has an off night like Pasquale did tonight, but Daniels has been on his game lately. His trade value rose a lot tonight, that's for sure. But honestly I don't want to trade him right now...

You beat me to the punch, Shanghai--I was coming on to update that very comment!!
After 3 looks, I remain impressed with Pasquale's potential. But hopefully tonight will convince people who have already anointed him the Savior that he isn't quite there yet. Talk of him stealing a playoff round for us is--to put it mildly--premature. He should be The Man next year, and then we'll see what he's really got. Daniels should be starting every game at least til he loses. His past history indicates that when he's hot, he's hot. And right now, he's smokin'.

It would have been interesting to see how things would have turned out if we had started Daniels. Not to mention we had 2 or 3 goals that weren't allowed. Hopefully we start a new winning streak tonight.
Go Spirit

2 or 3 goals not allowed? Not only are folks drinking the Kool-aid, but me thinks some are putting something in it. Let's see there was one where the whistle blew ending the play. Was the whistle too quick? If you are a Saginaw fan, yes, if you are a London fan, no. The only other "goal" that was not allowed was on the goalie interference penalty. Guess what, it was a penalty and you can't score a goal if you interfere with the goalie first. Saginaw had zero, count them, zero goals that were not allowed.
Saginaw lost last night because they didn't play their game. End of story.

I disagree, I thought they played a decent game. Even outshot them! They had the hotter goalie to start the game. To me, that was the differents.

I never said they didn't play decent. I said they didn't play "their" game. Big difference. The Spirit got off to a very slow start. That isn't "their" game. London didn't have a hot goalie, they had a damn lucky goalie. Guy was very shaky in net to start and the Spirit couldn't capitalize on that. If they had, things would have been different There is no question as the game went on, Guy got stronger. Having a big lead will do that. If Saginaw had come out of the blocks playing "their" game, that is putting pressure on their oppenent from the get go and capitalizing on their opportunities it would have been a different outcome. They didn't and the rest is history. Shots on goal doesn't mean anything. Quality scoring chances and capitalizing on those chances is what counts. London did, Saginaw didn't, end of story.

I might also have to disagree. Judging by how the game went on the radio, it sounded like we took it to them from the point that Daniels entered the game. We got off to a terrible start and it's hard to recover from being down 4-0. I'm sure London had a little extra step in them with their new players. Good thing about the "O" is we can quickly put this loss behind us and get back to work tonight.

Good thing about the "O" is we can quickly put this loss behind us and get back to work tonight. Just curious, who are you disagree with? The Spirit got down by 4 goals because they were off their game. It had nothing to do with Pasquale. A goalie change was needed in an attempt to get control of a game that was out of control. Daniels was solid and the team responded by playing better. The problem was they had already dug themselves a hole they couldn't climb out of. Saginaw has won many games this season that on paper they should not have won. The reason they have won those game is because they have come out of the locker room ready to play from the get go. They put the opponent down early and kept up the pressure. That didn't happen last night and the results were not good. It was almost like they expected to win without trying and by the time they figured out that London wasn't just going to lay down for them it was too late. Let's hope they learned a valuable lesson last night and come out flying tonight. Peace.
