Amen justafan. My sediments exactly. What does his appearance have to do with how he calls a game? Currently enjoying another Fic broadcast. His looks have NOTHING to do with it. I was just stating that he resembled him. I never said it had anything to do with HOW he calls a game. I have been one of his biggest supporters on here, check my posts. Oh, I think you mean "sentiments"... ;D

I have followed fic through the years, and he is by far the best broadcaster than anyone out there, he left a storied franchise in Muskegon a Pro Hockey Franchise for a Amateur League like the OHL. This was a major step for him, he will make the transition like he always does, it's hard on a broadcaster especially leaving during a season like he did

We are very familiar with your "pro league". Trust me, hockey fans in this area will take the OHL over that league any day of the week. I don't think we should turn this thread into a UHL/OHL comparison thread, because you will be buried.
We were very spoiled when Greg Brady was calling games here. I don't mind Fic, I think others will warm to him eventually as well.

"Pro" & "Amatuer" are relative terms. The new MAHL (Mid Atlantic Hockey League) is a "Pro" league, but there are mostly players there who were not even good enough to play in the OHL & they played like Junior 'B' at best. But they get paid to play, so it's "Pro". People like to talk about how these are "kids" playing in this league, but we have "kids" who are older than Sidney Crosby (or were older than Sid the past two years), but yet he was a star in the NHL. Does that mean that he was worse of a player than the Co/U/IHL players because they were older? I hardly doubt it. Do we have some 16 & 17 year olds, sure. But I would guess if you pitted them in a head to head game with most of the teams in your league they would be very competative to say the least. Both Pro & Amatuer leagues have players with good size, good talent, etc. But honestly, how many Co/U/IHL players make it to the NHL, which ultimately is the biggest "judge" of talent, each year compared to players from the IHL, QMJHL & WHL? I would guess that you have MAYBE one role player here & there (or perhaps an exception or two) from your Pro league that makes it to the NHL compared to the many from the Amatuer ranks. And it (a lot of times) can be a 1 year transition. For example, a player plays this year in the OHL & then makes the jump to the NHL next season. I could be wrong, but I can not think of any Co/U/Ihlers that have made the jump from one year in that league & the next in the NHL. So if anyone wants to discuss talent between the Co/U/IHL vs. the OHL, there are many of us here who would LOVE to take on that discussion on behalf of the OHL.
I would also say that making the jump (for Fic) from the "Pro" ranks to the "Amatuer" ranks was NOT that big of a 'chance'. The majority of the teams in the OHL are on a lot more stable ground than your entire league (no offense, just the way it is).
But back on topic, I like Fic & I think a lot more people ARE coming around to liking him. You will always have your haters, but then I am sure there were some out there who did not like Greg Brady or Cameron Knowles, either. Everyone's taste/opinion is different.

i like Fic when he's doing play by play...i don't like fic at intermissions and before/after the game. I also think he interacts with Rosie quite well.
