a.) How do you find someone to replace him in the middle of the season (again)?
b.) Keep him for "other duties" and get another person for the radio. Really? Now pay two salaries for something that was done by one person. That kind of business decision will ruin you.

Seems like more people are interested in bashing the new announcer than anything. I don't understand why he has received more criticism than any player, coach, or heck even the newspaper reporter. There have been more posts about him than actually what is happening on the ice lately. I am supporting Fic no matter what and feel he is definitely qualified for the position and I enjoy hearing his call of the games. I have not had a chance to personally welcome him yet, but when I see him, I will definitely extend my hand and welcome him to Saginaw.

Perhaps the way the poll is worded affects that. No one is more annoying than Kenny G.

I like the guy. he is not Greg Brady, and in some ways that is good. If you want to hear truly bad broadcasters, listen to a Buffalo Sabres game sometime on NHL Center Ice. The playbyplay and intermission crews might very well be worse than Erie's announcers.

I personally cannot think of any way that it is good that Fic isn't Greg Brady. haha. I loved Brady's style, and am still sad that he isn't with the Spirit anymore, although I understand why he left.
I guess Fic is staying strong at 50%, so I say keep him, but I'm not listening. I used to bring the radio to the game and listen to the broadcast as I watched it...no more, I don't want to fall asleep at the Dow Event Center. haha.

why do you listen to the game on the radio while you are there? I've had mini tv's at football games to see replays but I don't get listening to the radio...enlighten me please.

It just adds to the game, keeps you involved. It also helps if you don't know a lot of the player names, that's usually how I learned them. It's almost the same difference as watching a game on TV and listening to the commentators...they add something to the game. Brady and Warren Holmes were really good for that too, they would have actually made a better TV team than a radio team because they analyzed more than they commentated. But when you have someone with as much knowledge as Brady had, it really added to the experience. I am not the only person who does this either...look around next time you go to the game, you'll see several walkmans in the seats at the Dow. Actually, I could make the same arguement for you...why would you bring a TV to the game, when you can watch it live? haha.

If you look on the back of the player's jersey, just above the number, you will notice some letters placed there. Now each player will have different letters and some have more than others, but they actually spell out the players name. Hope this helps. Peace.
