Well, tonight the Spirit head back to the Soo to play what should be game three but is actually game 2 in their round one matchup against the Soo Greyhounds.
I'm not going to make a prediction for tonight's game, but I think the fact that we're heading back to the Soo for game two being down a game in the series is not a great thing. Hopefully the Spirit can overcome the absolute mess from Saturday night and show the Hounds how it is done tonight. Oh, and someone get Daniels some earplugs so the fans can't razzle him too much!
Go Spirit!

LOL spirit, I will we one of those loud fans getting on Daniels' case. It seems to work as Daniels doesn't seem to perform as well in the SBC as he normally does. Anywho, this is going to be an important game as always Game 2 in the series is always the big game. I had some facts about GM 2 and whatever team wins it wins like 85 % of the time or something ( NHL STATS ) but we'll see. Is there going to be any spirit fans at the game tonight? I saw a lot last game, it's always nice to see opposing teams fans' present. Good luck to the Spirit, and I know the Hounds will come out hard for this game. Go Hounds Go. PS: Don't worry the game will not be canceled , there will be no ice problems.

I think Daniels performance has to do more with the fact that SSM always has players in front of him and driving the net how they should. There is always a SSM player right on top of him especially on the PP. On the other hand Juice has an unobstructed view of the play for the most part. The fans chanting is great. It creates an atmosphere for the game and the players unlike at the Dow where it is very quite.

Like most of you guys I have a bad feeling about this game too. It really sucks losing a Saturday night game. A guy I work with said his friend works on the chillers there and said they are in real bad shape. fwiw

The dow isn't very quiet hockeyfollower. Not sure where you're watching the home games.

acin you are correct it is very noisy when were looking for free Jets pizza or free T shirts or when were told to make some noise or cheer for the french frie in the race. But compared to other rinks we are very quite. Mind you at other rinks there is very little in the giveaway department. Maybe our noise is used up for the free stuff. The fans at the Dow are great supportersof the team but in no way are they noisy as a group. There are some pockets in the Dow who get on the other teams players but no where near what our guys experience in other rinks.

The noise this year is better than in previous years. I actually heard a "Let's go Spirit" chant a couple times this season. That's rare, even when they put it on the scoreboard.
And since you brought it up, I absolutely detest the Jet's Pizza give away. Not only because I think Jet's Pizza is horrible and I would give it away if I happened to catch it, but mostly because everyone is ALWAYS standing, cheering for stupid pizza, when the puck drops to resume play, and I always miss the faceoff, and depending on how long it takes them to throw the pizza, several seconds of play. At least once this season I have missed a goal thanks to this stupid give away. I don't care that they throw pizza into the crowd, I just wish they could find a better, less interfering way to do it.
My fiancee has asked me before why I don't stand up to cheer for the free t-shirt or pizza. I told her I spend $11.50 and took a trip to Saginaw to watch a hockey game. If I wanted pizza, I would have ordered from Dominoes and stayed home. haha.

i think Jack Combs is going to have a big game tonight...I have absolutely no reasons to support that but it's a gut feeling...i'm thinking a couple goals and maybe a helper.

Agreed about Combs, he hasn't been doing anything lately.
Eric, you made me lol about the pizza comment because in retrospect that is hilarious that people are cheering for a SLICE of pizza. However, I used to cheer thinking it was a whole one, but just a slice, lame!
I think the noise is used up tbh. I mean for how much they have it on the screen and in the giveaways it's like once every 5 minutes. If people started chanting/screaming during any other time I'd be annoyed since I hear screaming the whole game for giveaways, etc.

Have to agree w/ hockeyfollower re: the noise. I've been to my share of other arenas in the league, and I find ours among the quietest (not counting the giveaways, etc. I've always said our fans make more noise for a t-shirt than they would if we won the Mem Cup)
