Where did everyone go? There's less and less activity on this board and the OHL Board on HF Boards. I tried starting a game day thread for the Spirit home opener and got very few replies. Are these boards dying due to social media?

I’ve wondered the same thing. I relied on this site for actual hockey talk as opposed to cheerleading, and it’s disheartening to see the lack of participation.

Hmmm, seems like this came up a couple years ago. talkspirit.proboards.com/thread/2913/lack-participationI don't have any answers. I've never been a STH, just went to a handful of home games when I had available time and traveled to an away game or two when the kids lived at home. So I didn't have much to add to most of the conversations. I always enjoyed reading the opinions and learning about how the OHL works. The Spirit feed on the HF Board only seems to get traffic when we beat London and our players are called "dirty" within minutes afterwards.

There's a lot of participation on the SpiritFan Facebook page but it's tremendously unreadable because everyone just makes new posts for their comments and there's no GameDayThread or anything like that.
It's also a bit of a boring season thus far...while I've been super geeked to go to the games, we still don't really know a lot of these players and there's no storylines coming in from last season. Plus, after a month we're just now seeing teams other than Flint/Erie so that's getting things off to a slow start as well.
To me, the storyline of the season will be, do we trade Lennox? Seems like there's teams like Barrie out there (who we are a normal trade partner with) who are desperate for a goalie and we could use prospects and picks so I'd guess we move him but who knows. I don't see us moving Bloom and there's really not a ton of other guys who would get moved on the team based on normal years.
Hopefully this board picks back up once we get into the meat of the schedule but to me, right now it's just a little slow moving in the league in general.

I agree with pretty much everything you said there. Our schedule has also been so inconsistent, it's been hard to pick up much momentum (both as fans and as a team). And all the Erie/Flint games doesn't help much either so far. Losing Perfetti and Suzuki, not having Tippet - we are also lacking some well-known names in the league that we've recently come to enjoy, which causes us to miss out on some buzz that way. With that said, the crowds have been pretty good so far from what I can tell, and that is nice. I just wish we had some more exciting Canadian road trips and looser border restrictions now.
