I've been attempting to update them in my post above, ssf--Barrie's first round pick has also signed, so the OHL is up to 9 or 10, depending on whether or not you count Cam Fowler.
I know I shouldn't, but every time I read your post about Jr A tryouts, I start laughing........especially since I pretty much missed it the first time through. It's my personal nomination for the season's first POTW!

Heard they signed Brad Walch, local kid from Swan Valley. They now have plenty of defenseman. I think it's clear some of their defenseman will be moved.
Heard 3rd round pick Dylan Impens is not coming. Could be top 3 picks from May draft don't sign.
Heard Saad will be playing in the NAHL with his brother. We were told he would be at camp, could very well be and still play in NAHL.

What's the alleged reason for Impens' alleged no-show??
I thought all along Saad sounded like playing with his brother one more year was going to be a deciding factor, which I can certainly respect. Certainly seems like something that should have been factored into his selection, though.......Hope he's at camp. We can see what the Spirit may (or may not) be getting from him next year...............God, I hate to be using the words "next year" already............
I was never all that impressed w/ Walsh--it looked like the home-town factor was his greatest strength. I wonder which d-man/men this will put on the block??

Having a late birthday should only affect his NHL draft eligibility, which would not be until 2011.
He still will only be able to play 4years plus an OA year if he plays this year.
If Impens does not play that will not speak well for the scouting and Edwards.
If Walsh did sign and our 4th or 5th pick was a Dman then we will have more D than forwards almost. Somebody will be packing.

Locks on D would be Crawford, Brodie, Comrie, Underwood, Sol
On the Block: Breen, Ogilvie (most likely waived)

It all makes sense now, the depth was the used puck bags that we traded to get these brothers. I sure hope they make sure the pop machines are in working order. The last thing we need this year is for our new players to get suspended before,during or after the first game.
