Don J - you're kidding right. You obviously have no clue on what it takes to travel 5 hours, play an OHL game - return 5 hours and then wake up after 3 hours sleep - to skate for 2 more hours. EXHAUSTING....and a real drain.
Trust me Rest is a key in this day and age and anyone who harkens back to their basketball days is so out of touch.....rest is a key ingredient in a successful season.

It makes zero sense why it's so early....
Why not 11am or noon, at worst?
Are they worried the ice won't be suitable to skate on...you know, for the 2nd time in 6 months?
Hey, they're .500 right now. If they keep that percentage up, they'll be better than I thought.
They've still got another OA spot to fill, potentially. But honestly, has anyone been REAL impressed with the two Europeans yet? I'm not closing the book already, but they have zero of the flash of the last four Europeans we've had in here (Kvapil/Birner/Zaborsky/Mursak).
Giving it time, giving it time, but I have a hunch on this one.

Hell, give them the whole week off! if you think teenagers are tired (after a bus ride where they sleep the whole time they are on the bus) you are the one who is out of touch. They are done skating, if you call what they are doing skating, in an hour? Make sure you follow them all home and tuck them in after the skate. Then they can rest away their sunday. How do you know they don't get Monday off genius.
