OK. Down 1-0. Quesnele scored. Always plays well against us, but what Greyhound doesn't. Especially when they're 8-2 the last 2 years in the playoffs.
I really like this Ben Holden. Excellent. And not struggling tonight at all with names, pronounciations, etc.
And wow...I have to say -- Dennis is offering a LOT more than he was allowed to last year with that disaster of a broadcaster, Fic.
There'd be games I didn't even know Dennis was there last year. But I really noticed the interaction and chemistry instantly with Brady last week at the Windsor game. And Dennis is chipping in a lot more as well.
Yes, he's probably more "with it", but it's amazing what talented and skilled broadcasters like Brady and this Ben Holden guy can do in terms of setting up Rosie.
Can we keep this Ben Holden? I can't figure how the guy doesn't already have a full-time gig. Sounds really really good.
It'll be interesting to see what happens on the broadcasts next weekend, but I'm really impressed.
Again -- for some of you that think I beat things into the ground...I WANT to compliment Garber and Goslin more when they do good things. I really do.
So hiring Ben Holden full-time would be a good thing. They'll deserve the congrats if they can keep him. After the way the Fic hiring was botched so badly and then they tried to sell him with a ridiculously overwrought press release and billboards, etc., this would be a welcome change.
Just let a guy's talent speak for itself. Don't tell us he's the greatest this-that-or-the-other. We figured out after a while we had a good thing in Brady and as well with guys like Sean Baligian and Terry Doyle. We'll decide this on our own as well!
Still 1-0 Hound-Dogs, a team we may have to be better than to make the playoffs, or at least avoid the #8 seed. Sarnia won't be awful either, they were missing everybody last night.

newguy, as you often do, you've said exactly what I was thinking re: Holden. I have already noticed Holden sounding much more at ease tonight, after only one broadcast, and he is making MUCH better use of Rosie, who is a font of info if only he is asked to provide it. I don't know what the Spirit status is with this guy, but I can certainly live w/ him!!!! The game---ouch. (And Holden sounds properly upset at the score........) How does the Soo continually do this to us?? And they don't even have Josh Godfrey this year. As good as special teams were last night, they haven't been very good tonight. Of course, nothing else has either. I posted on the Soo forum that I thought we might see Joe Lepera tonight, but this wasn't exactly what I had in mind.

Holden made it sound like he is here for the season. Made it sound that way last night & even more so tonight. I like his call of the game! He & Rosie seem to have a really good chemistry, reminds me of the Greg Brady days with Sean B. (I won't even attempt to butcher the spelling on his last name).

1) It was a darn close opposite of last night's game with yes, the Hounds receiving most of the bounces. You can say we got the goaltending, but also, we got the defense that we didn't see last night. 2) We ( greyhounds ) seemed scrambly in the 2nd the most, but O'Hagan held the fort when the defense got sloppy. I really think we will see this kinda Hounds team alot this year. 6) Boy did Quesnele look better tonight. He was agressive, he was strong on the puck, and he did not cause any "scary" turnovers costing us anything. Also he added a goal and was very offensive. I really think he should change his number to #4,(if you don't get it just ask LOL ) 7) O'Hagan was great, but when a team scores 6 goals, very rarely do you see a goalie get a star. He did get lots of help also from his defense and hopefully he won some brownie points with his performance, because he won some from me . 8) I am very impressed with our rookie and sophomores. They all look great, especially Carroll and Fine. Loving the help these veterans are getting. My Thoughts 1) Wow Simon Fischhaber, what a pass , reminded me of one of those Gretzsky's passes, pass em where there are going, not where they are, beautiful feed from behind the net on the 3rd goal. 2) Not much line juggling tonight, looks like Denny Lambert has a good idea of what he has to work with . Love the look of the first 2 lines. And for tonight, all 4 lines were rolling and all produced. 3) What a much improved defensive game from Quesnele and Beukeboom. They looked much better than last night, and even better, King and Odam were like the atomic bombs in Japan. Bang, boom, body check here, body check there, boy are they a physical pair. 4) Thank you Anthony Peluso for finally ripping someone's head off, why couldn't you do that to Terry last night . I'm gunna give Peluso the victory in that 6 minute heavyweight battle. It was very entertaining. 5) I'm loving the atmosphere in the Essar Centre. Especially tonight, It felt like a playoff game in there, the atmosphere is amazing. It is a great boost for the home team when it is like that in there. Hounds continue to completely dominate the Spirit. Sorry Saginaw, but these dogs are bird hunters.

Bang, boom, body check here, body check there, boy are they a physical pair. Very classy. Referencing Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Really nice. No wonder your fans threw handcuffs at Ryan McDonough two years ago.. Can't wait for your 9/11 reference in your next game summary. Feel free to go away, and spread your tasteless references, no doubt a byproduct of poor parenting, someplace else.

Peluso jabbed Allicock in the chest coming on to the ice and then they both dropped their gloves. Peluso getting the extra two minutes in the fight. Allicock did well and held his own. Allicock gave one or two in the beginning and just tried to hold Peluso the rest of the way. I don't believe Peluso got to throw much as Kain really held his arms tight. Honestly and probably surprising I may have to give this one a draw but give the Kainer a load of respect for this one. Team was down 3 - 0 before the fight and while Allicock was in the box came back with two more goals to make it 3-2. Way to take one for the team Kain.

I don't care if he MEANT any harm. Why is ignorance and classlessness excused if "they didn't mean it" in this day and age? "I didn't mean any harm" is basically the "I'm so ignorant and stupid, I wouldn't know any better than to reference a subject in history so painful and heartbreaking to millions of people".
Wrong is wrong. Right is right. And if he had referenced 9/11 or the Holocaust, you wouldn't let him off the hook, and you know it.
