I will be the first to stick my neck out and say that the boy's are playing as a team. Each one has assumed the roll they have been given for the time being. Line combos look balanced and 5 on 5 we can compete with the best. PP and PK needs a little tweaking and in time will be great. I have never seen a harder working team than this group and say 5-3 Spirit., with good physical play and maybe a couple of good old donnybrook's ;D ;

with good physical play and maybe a couple of good old donnybrook's ;D ; perhaps we will see former Saginawesomite Andrew Clouthier get into a tilt with Mr. Allicock tonight. For the fight fans out there...here is a rundown of the potential Barrie players who have been in fights this season (2008 fights): Andrew Clouthier (2) Behn Robertson (2) Kyle Clifford (1) Brian Lashoff (1) Dalton Prout (1)

Also look for Bochek to go with Shawn Frank as there may be some unfinished business from the Fronts day's as seen on youtube. Bochek smacked the junk out of this guy and Clifford as well.

DJ you forgot a pretty feisty player - Stephan Della Rovere- he is not afraid to drop them with anyone. He kind of reminds me of Swarz, not overly big but quick and tough.

Any word on Walch? Does he play or does his concussion keep him out of the lineup?
He maybe should have taken Sunday off as he recieved a nasty 25 stitch cut in Sarnia on Saturday.

3-0, and it wasn't that close. A real stinker--easily the worst game the Spirit have played this year. The entire team was invisible. The PK was good. That's the only positive I can think of. Hopefully it is out of their systems and tomorrow's another night.

The on line scoresheet shows that Cody Sol got 2 Instigating-5 Fighting-Game Misconduct near the end of the 3rd period but no Barrie player is listed with 5 for fighting. Is this an error or is it possible that Sol is going to get a suspension for "bullying" an unwilling participant?

Sol pretty much jumped the guy and started pounding on him bfore he even knew what was going on. If he gets a suspension it is well deserved in my opinion.

Looked like Sol received a knee-on-knee hit from a Barrie player. He lost it and jumped the guy. He will be suspended for a minimum of 2 games, which is automatic if you get an instigator in the final 5 minutes of a game.
I'm glad I wasn't in the locker room after the game. The entire team played terrible. The only guys busting it out there were Fillman, Svoboda, and Jarusek. They deserved more ice time and they got it. Everyone will have to step up tomorrow.

Isn't that suspension in the last 5 minutes of the game dependent on the score--a 5 goal differential, or something like that? Not saying he won't get it, just I thought there had to be a certain difference in the score for it to be automatic. I couldn't see what happened to initiate it, just that Sol flat out horse collared the guy and took him down. It wasn't out of nowhere--something obviously started it. Anybody else notice that the PP unit to start the third period was neither of the usual units?? (the aforementioned Fillman-Svoboda-Jarusek) That was a statement. These games happen, and unless they start happening regularly, hey, tomorrow's another day.

Regardless of the rule, he'll get probably 2 games...he pretty much Bertuzzi'd the guy. He did have a legitimate beef...the Barrie guy definitely stuck the knee out at him...i saw it right away and he had already been challenging guys to fight on the same shift so I knew he was going to go after the guy. Problem is, you have to go up to the guy and give him a couple wicked crosschecks before you just dropem and chase. I'm a big fan of LEGIT fisticuffs and Sol was out of line and like I said, will be suspended regardless of the rule.
For those true hockey fans out there, the first period was a beauty despite the 0-1 hole. Very penalty free, some decent chances for both teams and a lot of hard skating. I think Saginaw got frustrated with the great play of Hutchinson and that led to the lopsided score. IMO, Barrie will be a team to beat in the east.

good question. should this be leperas time? I figure why not. they have to get him in some games at some point. eddie may not physically need a rest, but this might be the perfect pointr to give him one regardless.

if he doesn't play it means Watson is looking for a new back up. I think he will play him. If he plays well he might stick for a while if he gets lit up it may be his first and last start this year. Hopefully he plays ok
