It sends a message. It shows these guys they can't run amuck because they don't have bodies. It should make them feel terrible for putting their teammates in a position where they had to play short-handed. And it shows everyone else that no matter the situation, you screw up you're going to sit.

I think the best solution for this team is simple, just don't play any home games. It seems they play better on the road.

Great run over the last week. Guys have stepped up with the absence of Stephens, Sadowy. Watching the game yesterday was painful at times. I do believe a change is near, especially on defence. But I will give credit to London, they are a team loaded with stars.
Lets regroup and get ready for a busy week. Four points over the next three games would be huge!
Go Spirit.

As a chemist, I would be remiss if I didn't remind you all that to make a solution of Saginaw Spirit, you must check the compatibility of solvents first. The hockey jerseys are made of polyester. Acetone will not dissolve them. Also, keep in mind that certain solvents are highly flammable. Wear splash goggles, a lab coat, and compatible gloves, and work in a well ventilated area, preferably a fume hood. Also have a compatible fire extinguisher on hand in case something goes horribly wrong. This would be a class B fire, so a B extinguisher or one of those "all purpose" ABC extinguishers will do.
PS -- acetone works great if you have any unwanted permanent marker ink on your 100% polyester hockey jersey.

A change is needed ASAP!
Our new GM needs to take action and do something. If nothing is done, maybe the change should be him. Id like to know where this team would be if Big Jim still had the say. The schedule does not get any easier with the coming weeks, so a change is needed this week or next at the latest.

I agree the manager needs to manage this. Don't like the Davies move and yes I will give it time. Why did Felhaber not dress I missed the broadcast. ? We are 20 games in now time to evaluate things.

I totally agree with your comment on Davies, and I don't think time will make that a good deal. We lost on that move! I also did not hear why Felhaber was not dressed. Maybe a trade is in the works there. I miss Big Jim!

We need to bring in Martha Firestone Ford. Lots of similarity between the two franchises and she doesn't mess around!

I see some people are venting on spirit facebook as well. As mentioned on there, someone wants all coaches gone. Im not sure that is the total solution. I do think Drinkell needs to be removed so no more trades can be made like the last one. He is over his head, we need an experienced GM to take over and make some key trades with some big names involved.

Something tells me that before long we will be starting another rebuild... That's what I'm afraid of. I mean, we need to carry this plan out. That being said, some major adjustments need to be made. But I don't want to see Gilbert heading out just yet. Let's finish this. This team has underperformed before. But sometimes it's just a matter of one or two changes that can bring new life to a team. The right decision is not to gut the organization. Not yet.

Something tells me that before long we will be starting another rebuild... I disagree...this was never going to be "the year." I thought we'd be a #4 or #5 seed in the playoffs this year and we're only 6pts away from the #5 seed so we're underperforming but not too far from where I thought we'd be. Next year we're going to be loaded with 19 year olds and those are the teams that "go for it." Any moves or positioning that we do this year should be geared towards next year. I mentioned that in the Davies trade. If he can figure his crap out this year and become a point a night guy next year, it was a great move. All that said, I have no idea what will happen to the coaches...I'd hate to think that next year is going to be our big year and we're going to make a change at coach. That said, the current staff doesn't have the guys playing at a high level. Don't undersell how much they're missing Stephens...with him out, it messes up all the lines and it forces guys to play up a line that they might not be ready for yet. I'm frustrated too but I think my expectations were different than some on here.

What he said. ^^^ It certainly is a disappointing start but this really should only be a slightly above average to average team this year and they are somewhat below average. If they start out this way next year, then the dumpster fire will officially be on. Plus, a road trip through Kitchener, Owen Sound, and Barrie isn't too easy of a task to navigate at this time.

My comment about "starting another rebuild" was me being somewhat sarcastic. Obviously no one picked up on that. I've always been a "gut it out" person. Work with what you have, tweak here or there, but get the best out of what you have on any given day. There's plenty of talent on this team that they should be a serious threat any given night.
