I wonder if THIS time he'll be living in Saginaw, or if we'll have a coach AND a GM leaving Dodge every time they can. That's no knock on Mantha's coaching abilities--never heard anything bad about him. How long has he been a Spirit scout, or was that a maneuver to get him into the organization? Thanks to Greg Gilbert for his work, which until this year was successful. Don't know what happened--something surely did--but best of luck to him in his future, wherever that may take him. Mantha came on after Drinkill was hired. He coached the Spirit before. Then he went to Windsor, where he had a well-known hazing incident that led to his dismissal from the Spitfires organization. Hopefully he learned from that and it will not be an issue here. I fully expect he is here only to finish out the year. So he should live here for the next 8 weeks or so and then return to Sudbury. Given the schedule with mid-week games almost every week until the end of the season, he won't have time to go home. He'll need to get practice time in with the club as well. Yes, I remember all that, puckman. As I recall, he took the fall for several people in Windsor. I understand the buck stops at the top, but I and others think he got somewhat of a raw deal.

Saginaw fans can at least say we aren't Flint. They fired their head coach and assistants again today for the second time this year. Interesting to see if there is another walk out

Mantha this year coached French River Rapids to a 1-41-1-1 record for 4 pts. Maybe he was too busy scouting for the spirit

Well, two games with the same lines, players allowed to be creative and not just dump and chase, utilizing young guns in different situations, has resulted in two wins and boost team morale. I know loss's will come, but it is nice to see for the first time in a long time the team happy, having fun and playing good hockey. Job well done! Fans are loving it!
