Big game this afternoon at the Dow between the Spirit and Sting. Sarnia has pretty much owned us this year (or at least it seems like it), so a Sting butt kicking is long overdue. A win today and we are 2 points back of Sarnia and complete a 6 point weekend.

Game is underway and just 6 seconds in the Spirit have a powerplay opportunity. Pasquale is in net and everyone's favorite referee Shaun Davis is in the house this afternoon.

What a disaster that period was. 4-0 and shots were 14-1 according to the OHL scoresheet. Oh, to be a fly on the dressing room wall right now.

Another powerplay goal by the Sting makes it 7-2. I feel terrible for anyone who paid for tickets to watch this today.

I can't believe how bad we are playing today. Its like our guys have no idea what to do short handed. I know we scored but this must put us at the bottom of the league.

Today was totally beyond description. In the three years since the Spirit became respectable, this was the worst game I'd seen them play. The two fast goals by Sarnia didn't help, and their dynamite PP scored 5 pp goals. But there was not a single area of the game Saginaw looked anything but horrible in. My apologies to other teams besides Saginaw who are fighting w/ Sarnia for playoff position. We certainly did not give you a fair effort today. First time in my LIFE I have ever left a hockey game early.
