Ow. Wasn't Liambas always a pretty tough guy when he played in the OHL? Garrett should have gone after someone less accomplished! Still and all--he's in the pros. Way to go GR. Liambas is the guy that took Ben Fanelli into the boards his rookie season for a year. It was Liambas' last year in the OHL because of how hard the hit was and the injury that was sustained by Fanelli.

I rememer when Kantor got traded, TW said, "If you look at each player, Archibald was drafted and Kantor is a free agent". Funny how that all worked out. I did not like the trade when it happened and I still do not. I don't think anybody really misses TW. Sorry.

Slovenia recently qualified for the men's ice hockey tournament in the 2014 Olympics. In all likelyhood this means that Jan Murzak will get to play at the Olympics next year. It will definitely happen if the NHL works out an agreement to let their players play at the Olympics, however, it is not a guarantee that Jan will be in the NHL next year.

Brandon Saad has been named one of the three finalist for this year's Calder Trpohy along with Montreal's Brendan Gallagher and Florida's Johnathan Huberdeau.
Good luck Brandon.

Per the OHL twitter feed: Vincent Trocheck has won the Red Tilson Trophy as the the leagues most outstanding player.
Congrats Vince.

Congratulations to Vince. Florida should be more and more pleased with their draft pick!!! Vince was our second round pick when he was 16---one of the great parts of the OHL is seeing the non-"sure-thing" draft picks turn into stars. (But all Spirit fans knew he was a star from year 1!!)
Congratulations to Adam Gibson, as well. There are many ways to go up the ladder in hockey, and it looks like he is climbing at a pretty young age, although I have to confess it seems like a L-O-N-G time since he played here!

Speaking of Saad he finally scored his 1st Stanley Cup playoff goal in Chicago's 4-3 triple OT win over Boston in game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals. His goal cut Boston's lead at the time to 2-1.
