Whenever I go on vacation something big happens. This time Saad wins the Cup. Way to go Saad. I was watching this guy play at the Dow just a year ago? Unreal.

Former Spirit captain (and perhaps an all-time fan favorite) Patrick McNeill has signed a two-way contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He spent the last 6 years in the Washington Capitals organization, but I don't believe he ever played the game in the NHL. Hopefully he has a better shot in Columbus. Also joining McNeill in Columbus will be Cody Bass. www.mlive.com/spirit/index.ssf/2013/07/columbus_blue_jackets_sign_for.html

McNeill has had injury problems, but had some very solid seasons in Hershey. The Caps have been and are overstocked with offensive D-men; I'm a little surprised he stayed with the organization this long. Best of luck to him with the Blue Jackets, where hopefully he comes into his own. With McNeill and Bass both with the organization, I may have a new 1A team!

I never thought he gave that much effort in Saginaw, I am surprised he has made it this far.

I would disagree: I always thought he had the tools, and when he went to Barrie, his stock soared. Good luck to him!

Telegin definitely took shifts and/or games off...that said, when he decided to play, he was typically the best player on the ice.
