Tonight the Spirit welcome the Windsor Spitfires back to the Dow Event Center. Last time we played was just a couple weeks ago, and it lead to an overtime loss for us. What should we expect tonight?
The Spits do not have a regulation loss in their last 10 games. The Spirit are coming in having lost two games in a row.
What do you guys think? Time for another Spirit win? Either way, the last one against these guys was pretty close, so its anyone's guess who might take the victory. I'm going to say Spirit, 4-3 in a shootout.

Sarnia has put the heat on w/ their win last night. Even if we win two of three this weekend, Sarnia has to lose both of their games for us to move to 7th, due to the tie-breaker. (I think that is correct, but if I messed it up, please go for it!) Logic says the Spits have to lose sometime. But logic didn't say Mickey Reynaud wouldn't make it to the end of the season. Windsor is a complete wild card right now, IMO. Tonight is a must win (Now there's something new--haven't had any of those this year!!) Guess I'll side w/ eric, but I say a 4-3 OT win for the Spirit.

The Spirit will do what they do best and put an end to a team's 10+ game unbeaten streak. Seems like we've done that a lot lately. I'm sure the boys are pumped up for this weekend, and with the Spits having played last night, I'll say 5-3 Spirit!
Perfect scenario for tonight: Saginaw wins and Plymouth loses. That way the Soo clinch the division and likely rest all their top players for tomorrow when we head up there. I think Guelph probably wins, and hopefully we'll get some help from the Rangers as well. But first thing's first...we must take care of our own business.

The above is not correct. The Spirit have not lost 2 in a row. Their last game was an OTL to Kitchener (which in my book is at least a tie) and won at Owen Sound on Saturday night.
Windsor certainly has been on a roll since the lost of their captain. Goes to show you that some games you can win on emotion/adreanline. But the above poster was right. Sometim it has to end. Let's hope it is tonight.
GO SPIRIT!!!

We DID lose two in a row. You can argue that while you earn a point in an OT loss, it can be more devastating than a regulation loss, because right up to the very point that you lose the game, it appears that you may win.
I wasn't looking at it stat-wise, I was looking at it as far as possibly the players' mindset.
Either way, we have not won in our last two games. Is that better? Geez, now I know what it feels like to be Mark Constantine. lol.

dj, my cousin sent Business Time to me last week. The tears are still running down my face........
eric--yes the game in Kitchener was an OT loss-but we won, in regulation, at OS the night before. So I'm not sure how we've lost two games in a row.........

What are you talking about? We WON IN REGULATION last Saturday against Owen Sound.

End of the 1st period...1-1 tie. Windsor has 1:01 of powerplay time to start the 2nd period. Sounded like Kovar made 2 or 3 spectacular saves for the Spits.
Jarram and Greenop had a fight about midway through the period after Greenop slashed Daniels after a whistle according to the broadcast. Based on the sounds of it, Jarram got a slight victory. I'm sure someone who is at the game right now can explain it more.

2-1 Windsor after 40 minutes of play. Windsor has outshot us so far but it definitley sounds like we've had the better chances. We need to come out strong in the 3rd...
Out of town scores: Soo 4 Plymouth 1 10:55 left in 2nd, Kitchener 3 Sarnia 1 16:37 left in 2nd, Guelph 5 Owen Sound 1 with 9:27 left in the 2nd.
