Tonight the Spirit come back home in what was supposed to be game four but will actually be game three in their first round series against the Soo Greyhounds. We come back here in a little worse shape than what we were in on Saturday night when bad ice sent us all home with no game, as we now trail the Hounds 2-0 in the series.
The further we fall, the more important the games become. We need to pick up wins in all of our home games to stay alive in this series, as we can't seem to get it done in the Soo. We'll have to win there to take the series, however.
Fortunately for us, both wins by the Soo have been in one-goal games and from what I've read we've been in it until the buzzer. So things don't have to shift much for the Spirit to get their first win in this series. I don't think anyone expects this series to be a sweep, so I think our chances for a victory tonight at home are good. My prediction, another one-goal game, but I think we get a 4-3 victory over the Hounds at the Dow.

I had bad feelings about the last 2 games, but tonight I am feeling a win. I can feel it.

All we have to do is win our home games & only need one win in the Soo. Not impossible by any means. Going back to the Soo tied 2-2 would be NICE!!!
Looking forward to the games this week. All hail 1/2 price beer!!!

Just found out that my work commitment for tonight has been canceled, therefore I will be at the game tonight. I'm pretty excited about that. So hopefully the boys can take it to the Hounds tonight!
Go Spirit!

My wife and I left right as we scored the first goal. Only the 3rd time in my life I've left a hockey game early! and to think, I gave up family stuff tonight for this.

Sounds like Daniels had a rough night? I'll be there tomorrow night, more than likely their last home game. (hope I'm wrong)

6 - 2 and it really was not that close. Soo has a much better team than the Spirit and it was evident from the opening faceoff.
If anyone knows where Jack Combs is, please have him report to the Dow Event Center.

1) If Godfrey wants to play as well as he did tonight, maybe he should stay out of the penalty box. He knows he can't fight so why even get involved in scrums. Good job by the Spirit too lure him into scrums. He has a bad temper. 2) Wakey Wakey Mr.Jeffrey. Just like Combs, Dustin Jeffrey is also in LA LA land. 3) Bowling over Juice was a great move by Saginaw, Obviously on purpose but they figured down by 5 goals that the penalties would all go to the Hounds 4)Love how Alphonso,Godfrey and Livingston were fooling around in the penalty box. They must have known they were on camera so they sat close to each other and held hands and were smiling. 5)Good show from the Hounds. Disappointed about the Spirit. Poor Daniels LOL. Too bad we couldn't chase him here at home.

Hate to say it, but stick a fork in 'em... No way can they win 4 in a row, including 2 in the Soo. Prove me wrong, boys! I will be there tomorrow, blowing off work. Hopefully my presence will be just what the team needs, since obviously Eric couldn't get it done tonight! lol!!!

Yes, Combs is MIA and deserves to be taken to task. But he is far from the only one. This was my first opportunity to see what I've listened to for the last couple games, and it kind of confirmed my suspicions. The Spirit simply have not stepped it up for the playoffs like a good team needs to do. They aren't getting to the pucks in front of the nets, they aren't getting the pucks in the corners--they aren't sacrificing themselves, plain and simple. It might be youth and inexperience, but the guys who have been there before are at least as guilty as those who have not. Playoff hockey is dirty, gritty stuff, and the Spirit just don't appear to have the sandpaper to match the Soo. So--moving on. Wow, did Murovich ever smoke Juice with that run at him tonight. He deserved the 5 and game, definitely, but I have to believe that was a sheer frustration penalty. He's an agitator, but I'd never seen him do anything like that before. I was also stunned that we didn't see a huge brawl resulting from it. What was up w/ moving Comrie to forward tonight? And who starts in goal tomorrow? I say you stick w/ your #1--Daniels--who deserved to be pulled tonight, but has not played badly the other two games. But if anyone feels differently, I can see that side of it too. See how the "Goalie of the Future" does from the opening faceoff. Because probably after tomorrow night, he becomes the Goalie of the Present.

I felt that Saginaw's inexperience really showed tonight...and the Hounds were on a mission. They played a near perfect road playoff game, IMO. I too was also surprised a huge brawl didn't ensue after Murovich crashed Gajewski.
I was on the ice prior to the arena opening and I must say it was probably the best ice the Dow has seen in a LOOOOOOONG time.
Hopefully tomorrow isn't our last home game, but unfortunately it probably is. Some people I asked tonight seem to think Daniels will be back next year. I'm not so sure, however. I bet we probably have Pasquale in net again though...kind of like the past 2 seasons where in Game 4 against Guelph it was Daniels getting a taste of playoff hockey instead of Francois Thuot, and last year in Game 5 where Perron got the nod over Daniels. Guess we'll see what Coach Watson is thinking about that.
