RUMOR: Our friend OHL Insiders now saying Saginaw is in the mix for Akil Thomas from Niagara. Also in the mix are London, Ottawa, and Peterborough.

RUMOR: Despite saying last night that Akil Thomas to Peterborough was unlikely, OHL Insiders now says he is close to going to the Petes.

I've been really hoping for Akil Thomas in a Spirit uniform. Doesn't look like that's likely, but I'd love to see it. Certainly could use some help on D as well.

Interesting that there is no noise at all about a deal involving d-man Thomas Harley of the Mississauga Steelheads. Maybe Missie has decide to stand pat after selling big time last season. As for Akil Thomas, the fact that it’s dragging out tells me that maybe Saginaw is still in the mix to get him. We shall see. |

Please, please stand pat... Or trade 19 & 20 yr olds.. This is not the year to go all in. Keep the pick they will be more valuable next year.

Deals are starting to pick up.
Matej Pekar traded from Barrie to Sudbury for 5 picks (2 2nds, 3rd, 5th, 6th).
Serron Noel traded from Oshawa to Kitchener for Ryan Stepien and picks.
Philip Tomasino traded from Niagara to Oshawa.
Akil Thomas will be traded tomorrow after he is honored in Niagara. Sounds like Peterborough is the final destination.

Tomasino deal has been rumored since last year's trade deadline. Major for both teams.
Not convinced it’s Peterborough for Thomas. Too many variables.
Starting to get nervous sbout this whole thing.

TSN's Darren Dreger is reporting Akil Thomas is heading to Peterborough pending Thomas waiving his no-trade clause.
