Here's a look at one person's idea for next season's lineup (not me). This was on the HF Board and for some reason I'm not able to respond to this post even though I'm registered over there.
My question is who is this Fleming guy?
Perfetti-Suzuki-Import Bloom-Jenkins-Antropov Duhart-Baber-Codd Fleming-Klein-Baker
Bulovs Lipkin (17 year old picked this year who has a college commit. Late bloomer who I could see signed)
Millman-King Smith-Import Mancini-Jovanovic
Lennox Andrekos Oke

He came over in the Suzuki deal. He was "called up" right before the season was "paused".

Is it possible we have Solovyov as an OA next year or will he stay overseas to play? I really like him as a player and he would be a great OA in my opinion.

Correct me if I'm wrong regarding the roster limitations, but Solovyov would count as both an import and an OA so it's a double-whammy if you will. Would be nice to have him back, sure, but I'm guessing it might not be the best practice of roster management. He'll get drafted and probably get a pro contract somewhere.
As for as other OAs... Giroux and Wilde almost certainly gone to the AHL, and no way does Frappier come back.
I think two of the OAs will be Jenkins and King. I'm leaning toward Antropov as the third, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's Katic. Goldowski would be eventually traded. Just my two cents.

For reference, here are the 9 players eligible to be OAs next season: Danil Antropov Marshall Frappier Damien Giroux (Minnesota Wild - signed) Jake Goldowski Blade Jenkins (New York Islanders - signed) Danny Katic DJ King Ilya Solovyov Bode Wilde (New York Islanders - signed)

It's true that Solovyov would take up both an import and an O/A spot, but is that really a big deal. I don't think it is. Solovyov was our only import player this past season. We did pretty well with just one even though we could have carried two. Keeping Solovyov as an O/A still leaves room to add an import player. A lot will depend on who the team can sign and where the need is.

Hes a big body bottom 6 kid. Not going to put up a ton of points but will be serviceable in a checking role. From london and buddies with Suzuki and Millman. My oa thoughts is Blade will likely be back, King will anchor a defense that will need it, and Antropov over Katic for the offense potential. I mentioned later in the postings that I can see him having a Hodgeson like point increase in this oa year. Solovyov would be great back as well, but I believe he will have pro options next season

The NHL is talking about starting up again in June with the playoffs in July. I think itβs going be interesting in junior hockey this fall if the NHL delays their season due to this season not ending until the middle of the summer. There will be a lot of overagers available, at least at the start of the season, that would typically be in NHL camps. It could make for a crowded locker room for a while.

That's IF they have junior hockey this fall. How many people are going to sign up to be billets to have one member of their house traveling all over Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ontario?

I was watching the most recent Insider Trading segment over on TSN's website and I believe it was Pierre LeBrun who alluded to the idea that any league below the NHL (AHL, ECHL, OHL/WHL/QMJHL, etc.) won't start until it's safe for fans to return in some capacity. Basically, the teams need the ticket revenue. Among the contingency plans include having the season starting as late as January.

Regarding next year's potential OAs... Jake Goldowski was selected by the Dubuque Fighting Saints in Phase II of the USHL Draft yesterday. Our dear friend OHLInsiders says he was trying to be moved out of Saginaw all year.
