I'm guessing Maninno gets the ax. If Perron plays, does this mean either Berard, Sinfield, or Asselin has to be scratched?

Or Zaborsky.
I think the rule is 3 over agers dressed per game.

The SpiritHorn is ready and the McNeill jersey is out of the closet.............
Can't see giving Lepera his first start on Opening Night, especially when he wasn't even on the roster last week. So I'm thinking Garrett Sinfield sits.

I would rather see Maninno sit.

I don't know... if Perron starts, and I would think he will, I almost think someone like Berard sits. Think about it - with a backup tender in net, you would really have to rely on your 'd' a bit more, and wouldn't you want your best, veteran d-men out there? I don't know, just a thought.

Considering our performance against the Soo in pre-season, I guess we would want our strongest players on the PK playing, since penalties killed us in both games. If Perron starts, won;t we have to sit two OAs? If Mannino is still on the roster tonight, certainly him. And I still think Sinfield. But SGF makes a good point.

According to the Saginaw news there are 6 OA's on the roster and they will be down to 5 by game time tonight. I think they can then carry 5 until Nov when they have to be to 3? Someone correct me if thats wrong.
Zaborsky - Not going anywhere
Berard - ?
Asselin - Staying
Sinfield - ?
Perron - Here until Daniels returns
Maninno - Outta here tonight?
Who has room for a couple OA's and we could get some future late round picks back.

Overage rule is as follows:
Regardless of how many overagers you have on the roster, only three can dress for any game.
You can start the season with as many overagers as you want to.
Cut down to 4 by November 15th.
Cut down to 3 by noon January 10th, 2008

A little help with roster math;
The Spirit list 27 players on the current roster.
Mursak and Daniels are still at pro camp that brings you down to 25.
Remove 3 overagers and that brings you down to 22.
Maximum 20 players allowed to dress that leaves 2 additional scratches.
It should be very interesting to see what happens tonight. I'm not making any predictions, just a suggestion; Hang on to your hats, we are in for a ride. Peace.

Thanks for the help BP.
Even with all the chaos this summer and uncertainty that awaits, I can't wait to get this year started. I think we have some potential and talent with some of the new guys.

So here is the skinny:
Sinfield, Berard, and Mannino will be sitting out.
Perron's in net (obviously)
Zelenbaba's heading home.
