No matter what they do or where they go in the future, the Oshawa players are going to have nightmares about that one for the rest of their lives. Question for my brilliant friends on here: why only one semi final in the Memorial Cup? I thought pool play set up seeding and then there would be 2 semis. It would be interesting to know the backstory of why they don't seed it 1-4 and then play 1v4, 2v3 and then a championship game. Maybe with the teams being so even and so few teams they want to reward the team that did the best in the pool play since the 1v4 game isn't that much of an advantage especially if it's not home-ice for the #1 team.

Yes. If there's a tie for last place (technically third place), then the tie breaker game is played. If someone goes 0-3, they're just out and there is no tie-breaker game.
So it's
Optional Tiebreaker Game (only if needed, for third place) Semi-Final Game (2 vs 3) Final Game (1 vs winner 2/3)

Congratulations to the Drummondville Voltigeurs, who tonight won the QMJHL Championship. We have our first team joining us in Saginaw!

I can't believe we're on the verge of 3 sweeps in the finals. Moose Jaw with yet another OT winner in the playoffs, they now go up 3-0.
Not that MJ and Drummondville have many injuries at the moment, but usually these teams play with little time to prepare for the tournament teams. Now, everyone might 7-10+ days.

Drummondville seems like a very balanced team. Moose jaw has an insane top line and a half that's carrying things but don't know about their depth.

While I'm sure our staff has scouted all 6 teams, it allows them to focus on a specific team now from a video review standpoint too.

It's all sweeps in the championship round. Pretty sure that's the first time this has happened in the modern iteration of the CHL. Drummondville, Moose Jaw, and London all get some time off before coming to Saginaw.

This really negates the alleged rest advantage that the Spirit had.

Guessing we'll have a lot of Knights fans coming to Saginaw next weekend. The London/Drummondville game on Saturday is completely sold out. A couple hundred tickets or so left for Saginaw/Moose Jaw (and the other round robin games, basically). Lot of seats available for the Moose Jaw/Drummondville game as expected.

Saw on the facebook group that there were some comments made by Bissonette on the Spittin Chiclets podcast. It was near the end of Episode 502 if you want to listen to it yourself but it is very NSFW so viewer discretion advised. Biz was pretty offended by what happened and said it's going to keep him from coming to town on Friday and to take his name off of the alumni list...yikes. They were commenting on the Sim suspension for London and his agent was on record in the London papers that he called a Spirit defenseman a Pu**y (pardon my language) and he got suspended 5 games for that: thehockeynews.com/news/opinion-whats-in-a-word-ohls-landon-sim-suspension-raises-questionsWhen listening to the podcast, I thought the same thing as them that a ref heard it and kicked him out but what they said was that it was a defenseman...they didn't use his name but said his father works with the officials...who went to the ref and ratted out Sim. If that's indeed true, it's crazy soft on the part of the "unnamed defenseman" and I think it is going to hurt his career because he seems like a good locker room guy and this is going to change it. I also wouldn't be surprised to see one of the Boulton's come after him for it a week from Friday.

This Sim story is all based on one side of the story…..him and his agent. Take it for what it’s worth.

Of course they aren’t going to have a problem with misogynistic language. Not like hockey isn’t trying to distance itself from that kind of thing. /s I don’t know why people find Biz entertaining. If he doesn’t want to show up, whatever. He was such a small part of our franchise history. Either you’re fine with the language used and you have a problem with the snitching or you agree the language is suspension worthy so it doesn’t matter how the league found out.

This Sim story is all based on one side of the story…..him and his agent. Take it for what it’s worth. Exactly, that's the narrative that THEY are controlling. I'm a firm believer in getting ahead of the story and while the league confirmed the suspension in the London Free Press (https://lfpress.com/sports/hockey/ohl-head-defends-firm-and-final-decision-on-landon-sim-suspension) the Spirit could easily put out the following statement: "We are aware of the comments made by former Spirit defenseman Paul Bissonette on his podcast and are disappointed that he has made the decision not to join us for a historic Memorial Cup here in Saginaw. Inflammatory comments have been made against one of our players that are based solely on one side of the story. The Ontario Hockey League has the final say in all disciplinary matters and they have reviewed and confirmed the actions they took. We are very proud of Paul's time in Saginaw, his professional career, and now his time in the media and while we had hoped that he would join us to celebrate the Memorial Cup we certainly respect his personal decision on this matter."
