No one will probably ever mention it in hindsight but the timeout that Laz called in the 2nd period was brilliant. 4th line was out , a bit gassed, and just iced the puck, and London came back loaded with their first line.
I wanted to tell Laz that I thought the use was fantastic today at the parade but was too embarrassed.
After the spirit iced it that play I turned to my wife and said “they could really use a timeout right now”, and never expected it to actually happen.

I forgot about that but told my wife and seat neighbors the same thing.

I still think the brilliant move was moving Bloom for a ton in return and then getting him back basically for free. Fitting he scored the game-winner.
I stand by if we hadn't had to play the Soo we would have beat London and gone on to win the championship too. We were so beat up after the Soo series and with no time to rest going into the one with London, the deck was stacked against us.

I’ll bet Nic is happy with the way things worked out.😃😃

What a tremendous piece Sima turned out to be. Doesn't always score, but when it does it's usually a big moment. Does all the little things so well.
I think that trade as a whole ended up being Brayden Hislop for Bloom, Haight (with all the picks that came back from North Bay) and Sima. Unreal.

Full and almost commercial free stream of the opening night game is up on youtube. The same user posted all of last year's games so it is likely the rest of the tournament will also be coming soon. I'll refrain from posting the link but a simple search for Saginaw Spirit vs. Moose Jaw Warriors should bring it right up. It was cool to relive the game this way and get to see one of my teammates singing the national anthem near the beginning of the broadcast.

As I believe most of you know, I was selected by the CHL to be the main photographer for this year's Memorial Cup. I finally finished uploading all of my photos. There are hundreds available for viewing on my website, so if you want to relive some of the moments, or check out some you may have missed, check it out here: www.dreambiggermedia.com/2024-CHL-Memorial-Cup
