We did until Kitchener got Mason.
I don't think I want to test that premise, to tell you the truth.
And to be honest--we have not played that badly against the Soo either. They are an older more talented team, and we played them to the wire in 7 of 8 games.
Actually the Soo got a LOT better at the deadline by getting Caria and Simmonds. I knew seeing Simmonds 8 times instead of 4 was not going to turn out well for us. (G, 2A tonight)
EDIT: Wouldn't you know it? Guelph lost to Erie tonight. Too bad they couldn't have caved against Owen Sound, too.

We've played decent against the Soo this year, but as mentioned above, they have the experience and a very spread out offense. 7 players with 20 or more goals on the season, and you can't forget about the Josh The Spirit Killer Godfrey. I was really hoping for Windsor, but oh well. If we do manage to face the Soo, then we'll have the revenge factor on our minds.

Am I missing something?? Everything I hear /read refers to the "critical" point the Spirit picked up last night. That point doesn't mean anything at all, does it? (unless you want to count being alone in 7th for 18 hours....)

2nd Period, game tied at 2 Asselin scores, goal goes to video review, video approvals Score: Spirit 3 Sting 2 Face off at center ice, play continues Another whistle stoppage in play Another face off, play continues. Another whistle and the Asselin goal is again reviewed this time from a "better angle". Goal is now disallowed and taken off the board. Game continues. Final score Sting 7 Spirit 5.

Once again, I ask, "Why would I go back to that game?" What's your point? It's old news. If you want to start a "what if" thread it could go on for days. How about this one, "If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle". Sarnia won 5 of the 6 games we played this season. So why single that one out? Because you think we got screwed? There is no guarantee that if the original call had prevailed that the Spirit would have gone on to win the game. It's pointless to go back and ask "what if?" I don't live in the past, it's pointless, serves no usefull purpose and only promotes bitterness. Besides, if you look at the final score. Take away the goal that Sarnia scored and give Saginaw back the goal that they scored the score would then be tied. Saginaw would have still lost the game in overtime, so what's the point?

Nice Tone.
I picked that game due to this bizarre ruling. Did it effect the game? Probably. Did it effect the outcome? Hard to say. During the course of the year you get calls that go for you and against you and they tend to even out over the course of the year. But this call was "off the charts" and unprecedented as far as I know.
Thanks for sharing your philosophies of life. I shall henceforth endeavor to live the balance of my existence with such standards.
Piece.
