Well, it’s midnight which means the silly season only has 12 hours remaining. At noon tomorrow we can get back to focusing on hockey.

Kitchener made their move late last night, adding forward Eduard Sale and former Spirit defenseman Olivier Savard from Barrie. Sale is an NHL first round pick for Seattle, but has kind of struggled in his first year in North America. The Rangers are sending back two players and eight draft picks. We have wondered what Kitchener would ultimately do at the deadline, and this appears to be it. Perhaps worth mentioning there have been rumors they were planning to bid on the 2027 Memorial Cup, and this trade seems to hurt those chances. Gotta live in the present, I guess.
Kitchener receives: -Eduard Sale -Olivier Savard
Barrie receives: -Kyle Morey -Blair Scott -2nd round draft pick (2026 SAG) -3rd round draft pick (2027 KIT) -3rd round draft pick (2027 WSR) -4th round draft pick (2025 OTT) -4th round draft pick (2026 KIT) -4th round draft pick (2027 BFD) -5th round draft pick (2026 SAG) -5th round draft pick (2027 NIA)

Ya, lots of Kitchener players are going to age out after this year...they'll be hoping that Rehkopf doesn't make the big squad in Seattle and they can trade him away next year. Maybe Andonovski too on the back end but they are going to have a down year next season for sure.

I think if Guo and/or Forgione had not gotten hurt, Drinkill would have done even more

With the last trade to get Castle, all the player cards were used up.
