Just reading some things on Twitter and other message boards and I can't tell if the Soo fans actually want to be the host, or if they just don't want Saginaw to get it. Honestly it's getting weird at this point.

The sure love their new twin-pad practice rink according to the posts. Something like that doesn't even matter...the teams will practice at the Dow so they don't have to cart their gear between two rinks. If there was another sheet connected to the stadium, that would be a nice thing but a twin-pad 15min away just doesn't move the needle.
I agree with the others, I just don't see how you can give it to a team that's not in the playoffs. Saginaw made a HUGE leap this year and we still only clinched 4th with one weekend to go. We would be VERY overmatched at the Memorial Cup this year and Niagara, SSM and Kingston would be in the same boat next year.
This league does not want to embarrass themselves and Saginaw will have the team on the ice and will put on a FANTASTIC show throughout the week. I honestly think there's teams in the league that hope we don't get it because we're going to up the standard for all future teams. Saginaw will do this the right way and it will be AWESOME!

Wouldn't it be cool if Craig Goslin made an announcement at the Awards Ceremony on Monday night in front of the season ticket holders and corporate partners.

It was announced at the awards ceremony last night that they are expecting an announcement on Wednesday, March 29th. We shall see. |

Well tomorrow is the OHL Draft Lottery (which involves everyone else bidding), so it might make sense for the OHL to make it a big day for the league by announcing the hosting city as well.
