This is awesome news. Great job by Craig Goslin and his staff for putting together a great bid package. I kind of feel sorry for this season's over agers who won't be able to play in it, but this should help recruit players in trades knowing they'll be playing for the Memorial Cup.

HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't feel bad for the Soo. As I've said in multiple forums, they will be a great contender to host the next time around. This is a once every 50-year's alignment for the stars for Saginaw to be a legitimate contender.

They mentioned during the presser today the tournament goes from Thursday, May 23 to Sunday, June 2, 2024. The tournament's first game is always on a Friday, so I'm guessing the first Thursday will be some sort of kick-off party maybe. Based on prior schedules, Saginaw would play on Friday, May 24 against the QMJHL Champion.

My wife hopes that one of the arena improvements will be warm water in the bathrooms.

Do you guys know if they will have a ticket package for purchase for the entire tournament? I've moved to the Kalamazoo area so it isn't practical for me to buy a season ticket for the Spirit, but I definitely would purchase a tournament pass for the Memorial Cup.

I saw about a month ago they started selling "mini" packages where you could pick two games to go to for this year's tournament, or something like that. So there will be options for everyone.

Looks like there is...this year they're priced at $600 plus fees per ticket and it also looks like there are 2-game packages available as well. chl.ca/article/2023-memorial-cup-presented-kia-ticket-packages-available-december-1www.ticketmaster.ca/memorial-cup-tickets/artist/891834Not sure what the availability or access to the tickets will be but there will definitely be tickets available for the public. I'm guessing that there will be a good amount of corporate sponsorships of things that come with access to tickets similar to the Super Bowl where a pretty healthy chunk of tickets go to league/corporate partners. From looking at the ticketmaster site, it looks like there must have been limited full-packages sold (and they're sold out) and then they make the 2-day packages available and there's currently still availability for those games. We will have the advantage of buying tickets because we know that Saginaw will be in the games. I'm sure there are others who will travel to the event no matter who the teams are and then the fans of the teams who win will have slim pickings after that for tickets. If I had to guess, I think that we will sell out the tournament long before the games begin.
